The Hostel Fransico Salinas is a good example of basic accommodation, certainly not as bad as some budget accommodation I have used over the years. The accommodation was clean, but in some placed looked tired. In most cases the staff spoke only Spanish, so to play it safe unless you know a bit of Spanish it could be easier to look elsewhere for somewhere to stay, in saying that I got by purely by using a selective helping of Google translate. Nothing!. breakfast was only dry croissants although they were tasty would have liked some jam or butter. Garage around the corner and has no elevator. Quite a walk from the old city centre and from bars/restaurants. Staff could speak little English. the breakfast was just 2 cakes and a coffee. If you had a long journey ahead of you, you would have had to stop on route for breakfast. Barring that not problems. Not much at the price. The shower cubicle was very small but manageable. we had to go without breakfast because the staff was 20 minutes late but far more serious was every fire exit was locked. No hot water the second day. Breakfast, was terrible, please do not state that breakfast is included. Waited for 1 hour as room not ready albeit 6pm!. Too far from city to walk. Mis advertising - no restaurant in hostal. Poor breakfast.
