Great hotel in a nice and beautiful small Rioja village. The staff was really helpful and engaged (even though Spanish is the only tool of communication, but hey, we're in Spain, right?), our room was beautiful, the dinner at Los Calaos restaurant is definitely not to be missed. The hotel itself is some hundred meters away from the main house with the reception and the restaurant - no big deal, but good to know. The hotel had a spacious lobby in the basement, including coffee machine, wine cool. alle vurderinger »
Loved this hotel! It's a total gem. Highly recommended! The new
space is designed beautifully, blending modern design with the medieval
setting, and a great value. The room was unique, very large, and super
clean. Briones is a spectacular town -- picturesque with so much history
and so few tourists -- and a great base to explore Rioja from. Breakfast
at the hotel's nearby restaurant was great.
We loved the room, which was beautifully decorated and full of sun
light. The town and the hotel were very quiet (we went in February),
which gave us a chance to relax and enjoy the local scene. On Thursdays,
each bar in town has a 1 eur- wine and pintxos special, starting at 8.
It was deliciously fun!.
Everything is excellent! Value for money is the best. Nice restaurant with authentic cuisine and good selection of wines. Generous breakfast. And people – you can't even name them "staff"! They are so kind and nice with everyone!.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Individually decorated rooms with excellent views
Excellent food at restaurant
Very clean and well kept
Good location for vineyards and surrounding area.
Location perfect for touring area, short walk to fantastic wine museum. Super views from bedroom balcony, we were in new annexe which was was stylishly modern. Good value breakfast.
Lovely staff. Nice, slightly untypical rooms with views. The same owners have a restaurant that serves excellent, local lunch and absolutely great value breakfast.
Fantastic place to stay - great hosts and location. Such a stylish,
modern place. Quite the contrast to town of Briones, which is very
traditional and old.
Very comfortable bed, big room, large shower, his and hers sinks, very
new and clean, friendly staff, good restaurant.
The room was good sized and comfortable. Although in a hilltown, it was not difficult to get to.
the room - the salon - the owners were very friendly.
5 Star accommodation for 1 star price.
Clean, new, good views.
No air condition, at least not in our room.
Coordination with staff may be difficult for travelers with no
understanding of Spanish.
Briones was our favorite stop on our trip. Because there is a Los Calaos
de Briones restaurant and hotel, at different locations and with
different hours, we found it best to contact the owners to arrange to
pick up the key. They appreciated it.
Would be nice to have also breakfast included in the room price...
Nothing about hotel - but location could be a problem for people with mobility problems as Briones is on a hill and not too many parking places.
Bedroom a little on small side.
The problem with the town Briones is that there is no restaurant that would serve dinner. The gas station a kilometer away along the highway serves gas station fare.
Nothing - expect would advise that everything is closed on Mon-Tues
(which none of the tourist books tell you!!). Don't expect to find
any restaurants in Briones open Mon-Tues - go to nearby town of Haro or
self cater.
Shower design was awesome but the water pressure was too low to make use
of it. Actually, one morning the whole town lost water for three hours,
which wasn't a problem for us. We just altered our schedule for the
day a bit. I'm not sure if this is a frequent occurrence or not. No
wifi signal in our room on the top floor. However, there was a strong
signal in the lounge on the bottom floor.
Car parked in front was vandallized There was nothing more than just an apology. There was no designated parking and had to be in the street. There is no attraction in the town. There are other, more interesting towns in the beautiful La Rioja region to choose for an overnight.
breakfast was poor.
lack of eating choice in Briones on a Wednesday night.
Too expensive.
