  Very welcoming atmosphere. Being able to chat around the breakfast table with the manager and other guests while getting served up made to order breakfast (including eggs!) and espresso and feeling very much "at home", including use of kitchen (microwave, free espresso/long coffee, frig, kitchenware, and nice comfortable bed with warm comforter (a... hva folk sier » nd good radiator heat when needed). The very steep stairs and somewhat uniquely noisy bath fan were a fun part of the character. The canal view from t - Staff were lovely, helpful and polite. The breakfast was yummy just what you need before setting out and about. It was a relaxed environment good for chilling out and looking out to the Singel canal, location is very good albert heijn supermarket not even 5 minutes away, lovely cafes and coffee shops nearby.   Try to get room number 1, (smoking allowed & your own shower/toilet)... the view from the window is something else! There's no food provided but hotel Alfa is beside a decent café. It's also only 2 minutes away from the train station & you only have to walk around the corner for your nearest smoke. The man running the place was very pleasa... hva folk sier » nt & although there was no tv, the wifi in our room was strong enough. - Our room was really clean, nice size, the staff where lovely and location was AMAZING! We stayed in the twin room and is exactly as the picture shows! Ignore the comment about about the building being old and decaying. It is old like many houses in the dam but not decaying!

  it was simple and clean, everything we wanted and literally next door to pink floyd and popeye so great location, ill be going back in march, great place - Its location, near Amsterdam Centraal railway station, was a plus. The room was small but adequate.

  We liked the friendliness of the staff and the location. Also, eventhough the rooms are small (so are WC and shower), it was clean and and we felt comfortable for 3 nights. The location is very central and everything is in a walkable distance. - Quiet area yet very close to Central Station.
