I stayed in this hotel with my wife. We arrived sooner than planned in
Amsterdam and had to leave our baggage in the hotel before the check-in
time, but that was absolutely no problem. The room is perfect, clean and
spacious, with a great view to the river and equipped with a nice

Excellent stay. We chose this as it is something different and more fun than an ordinary hotel and it was fabulous. Centrally located (10 mins walk from Centraal) but quiet. The standard of accommodation was excellent. Lovely to sit in the wheel house with a drink in hand looking out over the water. Very friendly and helpful host. Would definitely stay here again.

Sentralt beliggende. - very central and easy to find, staff were friendly and helpful, food next door was beautiful, room was clean but basic. I have stayed in Amsterdam a few times and I would definately stay there again. - All the staff including the receptionist have been very nice and helpful through our stay at the France Hotel

We liked the location - very accessible/walking distance from the central train station and to the city center. Guests can simply pick up anytime, free bottled water, and apple/banana at the reception area. The warm cookie for incoming guests is a nice way to welcome everyone. Wifi works well. Clean, bright, airy. Good breakfast spread, authentic dutch stairs, good lockers, good location. And even some pretty designs -- that's saying something for a hostel! Bar seemed good too though I didn't get to join that fun.
Though my stay here was brief, this was one of the best hostels I've stayed at.

Very friendly staff (father and daughter), they helped us with all our questions. Of course the rooms are a bit small (and so was the bathroom), but this was to be expected on a boat. We really loved that it was so well located, everything is reachable by foot.

Amsterdam's a walkable city and the Avanti is just right in the Middle of the City a 7 minutes walk from the Central Station! Made life really easy as I could explore and return at anytime without bothering when the tram and the like would close.
