We loved having air conditioning!   The staff was so friendly and helpful. The hotel was located just out of the way from the middle of town so it gave us a little area to ourselves with some peace and quiet. The rooms weren't too small, and it was very clean. Internet access was very easy to use and convenient.   It was my first visit to Amsterdam. The boat is next to the centrall station (10 minutes walking) in a really quiet dock! We were living at 4:00 in the morning and they made us an early breakfast. - Very interesting as we'd never stayed on a boat only a big ship!   Meget god service. Et pluss med "åpen frokost". Kunne forsyne oss selv når det passet og ta en kopp kaffe/eller te når en kom tilbake til hotellet. Kjeks/brød med pålegg sto også fremme samt fremdeles tilgang til å ta et stykke brød uten ekstra omkostninger. Vil kommentere ekstra at vi valgte hotellet utfra hotellets egen webside, tidligere gjester... hva folk sier » s vurderinger samt pris. - Pay for the Double Ensuite!! It's HUGE!!! The room had 4 large windows, a queen size bed, closets, washbasin, sofa, dinette and a tv. The shower is the size of a walk-in close and it's ridiculously clean. Maid services the room everyday. 24 Hour snack bar and juices are awesome! The rooms are extremely quiet and the location is very safe, clean and a 5 minute walk to bars/restaurants/shopping. - When I book a hotel I look for the 3c’s clean, convenient and cleanliness. This hotel ticked all. Epically liked the food and drink to yourself to coffee without asking. Close to the city centre yet quite. The owner takes great pride in his hotel and it shows. The hotel retains the character of a Dutch house, yes there are steep steps but that adds, so many hotels are bland chains…enjoy!

The location of Kalkmarkt is very good next to a canal and only a short walk to restaurants, the City Center and Central railway station. City people likes me enjoy a lot in this kind of town house. Besides, couple can enjoy simple cooking if you have been tired to eat outside during a long vacation. The flat is simple and clean as well. Absolutely recommended!

In our room there was a bathroom with (dark) glass wall - so you can see what's happening inside from the room - you have to decide on your own whether it's a plus or not :)

  A very nice place to stay with friendly and especially helpful staff. Breakfast is good, the place is spotless, and it is to very close to the sights, and the train station. Since it is a docked boat it is also very quiet. Don't forget it is a boat cabin what you will get. In the summer, this boat cruises the waterways of France. As long as you expect cramped, boat cabin accommodations and a staff of one, it's fine.
