The Medio Mundo keeps the colonial old world charm of the luxurious hacienda it once was with the modern amenities of an elegant hotel. We appreciated Wi-Fi, the beautiful courtyard with soothing patio pool and the interior solarium nice bath, large room with two queen beds, spring water and most of all the white linen included breakfast. This place is what heaven must be like. Although we're young and on a budget, we like staying in authentic, beautiful places and this hotel was the best welcome to Mexico we could get.
The hotel is in this beautiful traditional-styled home with a wonderful patio with fountain allowing you to sleep with only the sound of the flowing water... The decorations, made by locals, were incredibly beautiful (from the bed covers to the ceramic hand painted sink).

This is a fabulous hotel! It is economical but they act like an expensive hotel. The service and attention is impeccable from the moment you arrive to the locked front door and they greet you and bring you a cold drink. My room was very comfortable with lovely details like a Mayan bedspread and hand-painted sink. The breakfast by the pool is lovely. I would not think of staying in any other hotel in Merida. There was no TV or air conditioning in my room - both pluses as far as I am concer.
I have stayed in several Merida hotels, and this is my favorite. The
staff and owners are warm and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable,
though spare, with woven Ecuadorian bedspreads, and the baths are very
nice. Everything is super clean. There are two lovely courtyards, one
with a pool, which make this a beautiful oasis in the middle of the
city. There is a first class gift shop with artisano items. The
breakfast , served in the open courtyard, is just lovely. I can't
imagine anyone being di.
We are very pleased with our stay in Medio Mundo because you feel at
home from the first moment on. Not only the details of the rooms, but
also of the breakfast and the professionalism of the staff are
exceptional. A "must" for travellers to Mérida. Nos ha

The staff at Hotel Medio Mundo took great care of us during our entire stay. The entire staff was very friendly and provided us with a delicious breakfast to start each day. They arranged an excellent tour guide, which we used for two days, and because we had a 6:00 AM flight and would miss breakfast they made sandwiches for us to take. Can't say enough good things about our stay at Hotel Medio Mundo.
People running this hotel are fantastic: very friendly, helpful, with excellent English.
When we run out of cash and there was no money in ATMs, they offered to lend us cash - something we considered unexceptionally generous.
The hotel is cozy and arrange in charming, local style, great colors, and location is excellent.
This hotel was very close to all the action in Merida, yet provides a very quiet and lush courtyard away from the traffic. We walked to very good restaurants and visited a wonderful museum. We had to leave very early our last day and the staff made a special effort to provide coffee. We will definitely stay there again.
The hotel is very close to the city center but in a very quiet street (a bit hard to find...don't trust your GPS system). The parking lot is 200mts from the hotel. The room is spacious and nice painted with mexican colours...well it looks like living in a mexican pueblo. The staff is very competent and helpfull.
Beautiful hotel in the old center of the city, very close to everything so you can walk wherever. Rooms are big, the courtyard/pool area is very relaxing, breakfast is great (fruit & yoghurt, followed by bread/pastries), and the staff are incredibly helpful. The owner, Nelson, is brilliant to talk to.
Breakfast served poolside, including fresh fruit and juice, yogurt, breads and cheese was lovely. Hosts and staff were gracious, hospitable and helpful. We fully relaxed at this quiet in-town oasis. It lived up to all the good things we had heard about it and we hope to return.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast includes fresh fruits, juice and homemade bread, very delicious. Water is free. Location is excellent, only 5 minutes walk to the centre and beautiful plaza. I have a comfortable stay there.

Hotel is charming. You really feel at an old house. The gardens are nice and the pool looks great. Rooms are spacious and the Location of the hotel is within walking distance from the main attractions.

The only think I didn't like was that we did not have more time to spend there. The gift shop has wonderful one-of-a kind items and my husband bought me some unique earrings.
I will say but just because my comment might sound "fake" if too perfect that there is no tv in the rooms... Then again, you're in Mexico, you shouldn't be watching tv in a hotel room!!!.
The internet was a bit slow at times.
I'm straining to try to think of something I didn't like. If the
owners were to add something, I'd vote for a Mexican painting in
each room. Hardly essential, though.
Could hear a little street noise at night but that is to be expected when you stay near the city center.
Wished we could have scheduled two nights instead of one.
The only problem I had was at the check-in check-out: you have to park directly in the street and the police seems to live "just around the corner" and, obviously, you can't stay more than 2 minutes....

Don't expect all the hotel amenities. They provide shampoo with an extra charge (around 1 USD for a single use bottle). Don't expect American breakfast, it is just bread, butter, juice and coffee.

I did miss not having at least a radio while I had down time.
I specifically asked for a quite room, but the room in the first flor I
got received a lot of noice from the street. I talked in the morning to
the (?) American (?) owner/boss and she told me - to get me rid off
- that Mérida is a noicy town. When I came back from my duties in the
afternoon and commented the noice to the Mexican staff, they were ready
to solve the problem and assign me a quiter room in the ground flor,
just in front of the fontain.

Breakfast could change between days. We would be glad for eggs. But for those, who likes sweet breakfast, ideal choice.
