Nice location, comfortable to live in, and elegant style building and interior.
1. The location is very close to Otaru main walking trail and just aside the Otaru canal.
2. The architecture is early traditional japanese- western style. Elegant and beautiful.
3. The living fee is very reasonable.
4. Breakfast is suite for any guest.
the elegant building itself. it is very similar to european structures which I love. Also, it is right opp the canal bus terminal and next to the shopping street and just un front of the canal. hence, so very convenient! esp if u r interested in going to one of the restaurant at the canal warehouse shops.alle vurderinger »
We came during the Otaru Winter Light Festival. The location of the
hotel is very close to the Event that it was convenient to walk in the
cold winter. It's also situated next to the Otaru Canal Station that
made our travelling within Otaru was even easier.
Location was great, nice beautiful building, retains the charms of the bygone era but has the touches for modern travellers of today. Best value for money accommodation in Hokkaido!.
The location is good. It is next to the canal and five mins walk to the popular shopping street. The room is big and the colony design show the special character of the hotel.
Location is great, right next to the canals, shopping street and 10 minutes away from the JR Otaru station, very easy to find.
The overall design of the hotel is very cool.
1. Very strategic location. Close to the canal, sushi street, bus terminal, railway station, convenient stores, etc.
2. Elegant building architecture.
Location is ideal, everything is within 5-10mins walk. Rooms are clean and spacious. Will stay there again if I come back. Great value for money.

Check in time is too late, which is 1600hours.( Wonder if it's the
normal check in time in Japan). No wifi in the room.
The breakfast is too simple. Only bread and coffee. Not even provide milk, egg or juice. Should provide a bit more variety.
The "Breakfast" was literally bread, butter, jam and coffee, but oh well, you could not wish for more for that price and location.
No hot drink in the vending machine.

......then you get to your room, our was very tatty
heating couldn't be controlled (apparently), so it was very overheated
staff spoke no English (in itself not a weakness, as we speak no Japanese), but, unlike the vast majority of people we encountered in Hokkaido, made no effort to overcome the language barrier.....we just gave up with them, it was clear there was no point in asking for anything in terms of advice or info.
Do not have air conditioning in each room.
Bread is not delicious.
