Koe House is located at the foot of Mount Fuji, within 100 metres from Kawaguchiko Train Station. It's within a 10-minute walk of hot springs and museums at Lake Kawaguchi-ko, while Fujiten Ski Resort is only a 20-minute drive away. Mount Fuji 5th Station for climbing is a 1-hour bus ride from Kawaguchiko Station.
A fridge and a microwave can be freely used at the spacious lounge, which features wide windows, a TV and soft chairs. The hotel also houses a terrace, a small shop and drinks vending machines. Bicycles can also be borrowed at the front desk.
A Japanese breakfast is served at the restaurant, where Indian, Thai and other dishes can be enjoyed for dinner. Staying guests enjoy discounts at the restaurant. The bar offers a selection of drinks and snacks.
The hostel has rooms with a tatami (woven mat) floor and traditional futon bedding, as well as rooms with bunk beds. Bathroom facilities are shared. Guests can bring their own towels, or rent or purchase them from the hotel.

We sayed in a dorm but it was more like our own room because of the room deviders. It was comfortable and really close to the train/ bus station. Great value for money. We also did their 2500 yen PP offer to see a temple,traditional 400 year old houses and natural fresh water spring with lunch and dinner included. The option was also given to visit a hot spring. Excellent location - you can see it from the train station. Staff can speak English. They have a locked luggage storage room and kept our luggage for us while we climbed Fuji overnight (we had checked out the previous morning). They offer breakfast of toast with jam, juice, salad and unlimited tea and coffee for 180y. There is also a restaurant for dinner. Rooms were large with fridge, TV, large cupboard space and hangers. Laundry available. Large rooftop balcony with clothesline to dry laundry.
Very friendly and welcoming english speaking staff. Location is very
close to main station therefore convenient to get around the area. Rooms
are traditional japanese style, very nice change from normal
hotel/hostal, very clean and bedding confortable. Bicycle rental is
free if you eat at the hotel, the bikes are well maintaned and japan is
very cyclefriendly. Food is great (and quite cheap) and portions
generous, (recomend the grilled fish). Internet was fast and freeeee...
Conveniently located opposite the train and bus station. The staff were particularly helpful and booked our accommodation at 3400 m on Mt Fuji enabling us to see the sunrise from the summit on my wife's 60th birthday. While we did the climb they stored our suitcases free of charge and when we returned they called to book our transport to our next accommodation. With no knowledge of Japanese language it would have been very difficult without the help of these lovely people.
The location is excellent, only 2 minutes leisure walk from Fujikawaguchiko Train Station, when you exit, just look directly ahead, and you will see Koe House. The local Retro bus to tour Lake Kawaguchiko and Saiko is also located at the train station ~ excellent location !!!.
It's not far from Kawaguchiko station. Just 5 mins walking. Host can speak english very well and friendly. He has service for taking us go to hot spring too. It's very convenience for me to travel in Kawaguchiko lake and Hakone. Accomodation is clean and have space enough.
Koe House is a lovely guesthouse with a very friendly lady staff by the
name of Aki, who made me feel so welcomed The owner of the hostel was
equally helpful and kind. And I really like the breakfast. Plus the
location was just great.
Nice and espacious japanese rooms with tatami and futons. Warm room, with heater, fridge and kettle. Helpful staff, very nice location right in front of the train and bus station. We could see the Fuji-san from our room!! Good wifi.
The staff speaks English very well and give all information you need.
The breakfast was excellent. The location is very closed to train
station, the room itself was very nice and it was our first time sleep
on tatami.

This place was great! Very close to the station, incredibly cheap, very friendly. They drove me to an onsen that was about 20 minutes away for free! Breakfast was only 180 yen. Very highly recommended.
The rooms were clean and the location is very good. From the kawaguchiko
station, it's only a 2-3 minutes walk. As it was not the peak
season, the rooms were quiet and the hostel not fully booked.
Excellent access to bus and train And Mt Fuji hiking. Friendly staff and
speak English. Place is older but more than adequate. Tables with chairs
downstairs to get off the floor once in a while.
The staff are friendly and very helpful. When I requested them to call the bus services to Mt Fuji, without further delay, they called for me due to language barrier ( I do not speak Japanese).
Koe, his wife and staff are very friendly, such that you feel like it is your home. Location is very good. You can truly enjoy Fuji with your stay at Koe's House. Highly recommend!.

The japanese and western breakfast was good! Transportation is very convenient as the kawaguchiko train & bus station is just a minute walk.

No air conditioning but they had a fan in the room. We didn't feel hot at all in the room.
Shower room and bathrooms are shared, which is fine and at this price
point is to be expected (they were very clean), however there are timing
(male/female)to use the showers which can be quite restrictive. The
walls/doors are quite thin, we had quiet neighbours mostly but could
be a concern.
There was only one room for the shared shower facilities so different times were allocated for males and females but this was only a minor inconvenience.
The only downside is I missed my train to my next destination due to there is no staff in the guesthouse when I want to take my luggage. The good thing is train service is quite efficient and fast in Japan, hence I took my next train, though I was late for app. 2 hours from my estimated arrival to my next destination ~ Hope Koe House can make sure there is staff available all the time, it will be bad if someone is trying to catch their international flight ~.
Only 1 toilet, sometimes it was a bit crowded.
Since the bath room is shared, there is schedule for bathing for gents
and ladies but only in the afternoon and nite. There is no schedule for
morning bathing, since I used to take bath in ther morning. I was doubt
wether it allowed or not.
The showers is shared (we didn't use them but instead went to a
local onsen offsite).
Hot on a hot humid night, but then most places are.
The breakfast is a bit too little. It was served from 7 am to 9.30 am but by 8.30 am, it seems running out of everything and there is no replacement.
The shower is tradtional Japan type, means "public" , try to accept it !! Of course seperate into male/female time.
