Lovely little hotel. Super location directly on Varenna's stunning central piazza. Lake views from the room at the top. Easy walk to the lake, the ferry boats and all restaurants. Francesco & Enzo were just wonderful, very friendly and extremely helpful. Room was clean, bed very comfortable. The restaurant is very nice too --- Love Varenna & this wonderful albergo - hope to be back.

It was large, pleasant, and quiet. *Excellent service from staff, thank you!* Easy to find location in a charming area of the village. A convenient elevator available to our top floor room with water view. Breakfast, of course great latte, and also juice, pastries, cheese, and nice ham. A lower priced hotel in the expensive resort of Varenna. Nice location in main town square and the restaurant was popular with many during the evening as it was cheaper to eat here than many other nearby restaurants. Only a short walk to the water front and a 500/600 metre beautifully stunning lakeside walk to the ferry port. This place exceeded expectation. Francesco the owner is warm and welcoming. The hotel is right on the plaza and very good for good as well as accommodation. Here you are near everything and you get a true sense of the local flavour of varenna. I can't recommend it enough. I enjoyed the comfort and view from our room. The staff was warm and very accommodating to my requests.The included breakfast in the dining room was excellent as were the dinners available to the public in the evening. A small place, not over the top and in a good location. The staff and owner have been extremely helpful ( I travelled without my wallet....) and understanding. Helpful staff. Ordered taxis when my Italian failed :-). Several good restaurants around the corner. Easy walk to ferry and local sites. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The staff, the service and the food. all was good. The loud bells being rung early on Sunday morning at the church just 30 metres away. The breakfasts were the poorest variety offered at any the hotels on my 20 day holiday in the region. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the towns train station. Strangely, for a small, intimate hotel of only 8 rooms, half of them had handicapped bathrooms. I am too small to comfortably use the toilet. It is also strange because the town of Varenna, as well as the hotel, is not built to allow wheelchairs or people with difficulty walking. Fortunately, we were eventually given a regular bathroom. My single room was very small and hot. Have seen bigger single rooms in the house and would make my reservation accordingly next time. Nothing in particular. Made a good exploration base as the local sites can all be seen in an afternoon. Liked everything. Be prepared for a built-in alarm clock with the church bells.
