Surrounded by woods and unspoilt nature, Hotel Tamola is set in the mountains at the North of Lake Como and near the Swiss border. The en suite rooms offer a satellite TV. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas, and parking is also free. Rooms have a classic design, and some offer views of Lake Como in the distance. Some rooms are complete with a lake-view balcony. A sweet Italian breakfast including bread, jam and hot and cold drinks is served each morning. Savoury food is available on request. The hotel is 15 minutes' drive from Gera Lario, and 40 minutes' drive from Menaggio, where you can catch a boat to Varenna, Bellagio and Cadenabbia.

Stayed for two nights at this hotel, which is set quite high in the mountains/hills. A long windy road up, but fun to drive and makes the hotel very quiet and isolated with amazing views. Attached restaurant was delightful and staff are very friendly, despite the language barrier. Food is brilliant. Rooms are clean and most have a balcony overlooking the lake. You will not get sick of the view here. Well worth a visit. About a half hour drive to the lake, and forty minutes to Menaggio, where yo.
alle vurderinger » View of the mountains and Lake Garda was spectacular. It was quiet and relaxing. The staff who comprised a nice family were friendly. Breakfast was a wonderful spread of cold cuts, bread and fruits. The homemade yoghurt with strawberry sauce was delicious. There were also many adorable cats and dogs around to amuse you. A rather hair-raising ride up the mountain but well worth it. The view was superb. The restaurant and the hospitality were excellent and the lady of the house so friendly and obliging even though her English was limited. However the young "waiter" spoke excellent English and was a credit to the hotel. The view is FANTASTIC. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome and nothing was to hard even though not all of them could speak English they were just so nice. The 5km hill drive to reach the top is just part of the fun. Enjoyed driving that road in the end. The drive up the mountains was nerve wrecking. But once there, the view was worth the effort. Although the lady could not speak english, she made us feel very welcome. Very clean rooms. Breakfast was good and generous. We had an enjoyable dinner at the attached restaurant. the location is amazing away from the tourist trail, the views breathtaking, the owners lovely, the food simple, fresh, authentic... We loved this place, so quiet and relaxing, perfect gateaway from our busy lives. Nice room, lovely views on Como lake, quiet and peace, full of hairpins road to Bugiallo can be viewed as dangerous by poor drivers, but we loved it. It is more risky sometimes than Passo Stelvio :D. The location is simply great, the food at the hotel's restaurant is amazing and the breakfast was wonderful and rich. The staff were great and all at such a great price!. Nothing we would stay there again. very heavy keys. It's up the windiest road I've ever driven. The road gets easier with practice, but it is pretty daunting at first. Parking was a little tight. When we arrived it was smoke smell from burning leaves which soon stopped There is 7 km drive to the mointain oved the serpantine road. It is a good roaf, but do not go there after dark.
