Our stay at Al Tondone was very good. And a great value! Our room was clean and comfortable with free WIFI and a nice bathroom and shower. The owner, Anna was very warm and hospitable. When we first arrived in Lucca, she went out of her way to come to the train station to show us the way to her B & B. Once there, she gave us maps and helped us by making restaurant recommendations and suggestions for activities to do in town. Also the breakfast she served was better than most we had in Italy.

We had a spacious clean room, good bed, nice breakfast in the serre and tea, coffee and water was free available all day. The garden is a very nice place to relax and have a drink. We also used the free bikes multiple times. From the B&B it is a 10 minute flat ride into Lucca. We recommend to cycle on top of the city wall at the start of the evening. You feel like a local. extremely friendly and Anna went out of her way to help with finding timetables, additional towels for beach and a lot of small details which made a difference. We were collected and dropped at the station - brilliant. Bikes were a must and were superb we used every day. Fantastic breakfasts and superb setting. A bit far from the town of Lucca, but once you know the way, it is easy, both by car and by bicycle. Nothing. Everything was ok. The air conditioning in our room stopped working during the night when it was still quite hot in the room. Location was a little outside the city centre for us, despite having a car. Industry has encroached on what was once pleasant farm countryside, now it's right at the doorstop. Nothing.
