  We were pleasantly surprised by this one. I expected a backpacker hostel-type experience, but our room was on par with the nicer B&Bs and hotels we've stayed at. The staff were friendly at check-in and helped us arrange a cab to the ferry port the next day. There are stops for the Dublin Bus nearby to return to the city center, although there... hva folk sier » are also some shops and restaurants in the neighborhood (and their own pub downstairs) if you'd rather stay close for dinner. The view from the fron - Gorgeous location on the harbor.... Outside seating is plentiful. Full bar in the restaurant. Be sure to try their fish and chips and also their wings! We were staying at there hotel and thought food might not be good. We were pleasantly WRONG. All but the last of 3 days the food was excellent (we had breakfast, lunches and dinners on various days).   I stayed on the barge with my two children aged 8 and 12. We used to live in Dublin so wanted something "different" to make it more interesting and the barge was certainly that! Trish and her husband (the owners) had thought of lots of "extras" to make us comfortable and to make life easier for us. I had expected it to feel a bit like camping b... hva folk sier » ut I really couldn't have asked for anything more - I would definitely recommend a stay on the barge and hope to return soon. Whilst we didn't use th - Location was great. Hosts were better than great, such fun to stay on this barge and really comfortable. The canal option was so good and our friends young kid loved watching it all unfold....so did the adults. You want for little staying with Dublin Barge Hire and its right downtown walking distance to Trinity College, all the museums, and the new Rugby/ Soccer stadium. Not to mention just a block from the train station to go out to Howth! Cannot recommend enough, wonderful and fun for both of
