My name is Kieran and I'm from Ireland. I can't say enough good things about my stay in Vila ombak. Staff could not do enough for you, so helpful an friendly. Room was spotless everyday and food was great.
this place was as new as could be it was clean and tidy and perfect for a couple of honeymooners

Cute looking villas with decent AC Excellent location near good snorkeling and a surf break, which are both 100 meters south of Ombak. All the the hotels and dive shops along this stretch are maintaining small artificial (Biorock) reefs a short distance from the shore. This makes for an interesting drift dive or snorkel. Located near the island best restaurants. Staff are very courteous and some are quite hilarious, especially 'Jim Hairy.' Movies on the beach at 7pm are cool.
Dangerous staircase to the bathroom with no handrail and difficult to access from the room. The lumbung rooms are like an oven if you choose not to use the aircon (which is not advisable).

Put in a complaint to the management. Was told my concerns were very important to them, he would look into it and get back to me......never heard from the manager after that. Dissapointing! Although the resort is lovely, it is in need of redecoration throughout,
the rooms are amazing, the staff is friendly and the bar in front of the sea is magic

Loved our room. Amazing large bathroom and lovely Eco salt shower. Really quiet and pretty spot but just seconds from the fun bars and restaurants. The sunbeds by the sea were perfect and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Great choice at breakfast buffet. We will be back.
The pool is a little old and will need an update at somepoint. That said it was clean and much bigger than any if the other resorts we saw. I was happy to use it daily
We were at first put into accommodation known as a Lumbung these are cramped, dark and tiny with almost a ladder going from upper bedroom to the outdoor downstairs bathroom which is very steep. They are kind of a traditional Indo style place my friend and I decided this was not for us and asked to change the staff were most amenable and put us into a fab newer room one level with gorgeous outdoor bathroom. It seems there are two distinct parts to Vila Ombek two pools etc the Pearl of Trewangan part which is where we ended up is far superior to the traditional and older Vila Ombek so make sure you stay there. Beautiful pool with waterfall and swim up bar only 40m from beach the nice part with Pearl of Trewangan bar on sand and shelter bean bags to lounge on! Gorgeous little place
The horse and carts on the Island of Gili Trewangan are cruel and it's tragic that they run all day with no water up and down the main road taking stupid tourists for rides. The horses should be retired with alternatives sought to move luggage and people.
Additional service prices, i.e. bicycle rental - 100000 RP/ day, whereas outside the hotel the price was 25000 RP, can of soda - 22000 RP, etc.

Maintenance is poor, door lock was broken and we were locked in the outside bathrroom and had to scale the wall. Reported to staff although we were promised it would be repared nothing was done,Staff are not supervised to meet customer service, we also stayed at Quncie Lombok, there, is a lesson for Omnak managers when it comes to maintaining and providing good customer service.
Found the staff very friendly & obliging. Would definitely return there for a holiday. Loved the soho cocktails at the beach bar at "Happy Hour"

I did not like the fact outside guest can walk in wash their slippers in the pool use the swimming pool with out spending any money at the resorte .Not done.when I come back to stay again which I will n see this happening I will walk out of your hotel.
Due to a musty smell in the room and it being a bit of a hot box-they changed us to a terrace room with a beautiful outdoor eco salt shower/bathroom and air con that efficiently worked. I would say just get one of these rooms to save the hassle of disappointment. Breakfast had a lot of variety. Pool was great.
Wooden Bungalow had a musty smell as though the room had been locked up and not used for a while(really need a bit of upkeep/renovation) Bike hire is double the price than on the street

The rooms and balconies along with lower level day bed and table and chairs gave you options in and out of the sun while you were at your room. Gardens and pool were lovely. The pool bar staff were all great, good for a chat and all made great cocktails. There was a good variety for breakfast. The beach side restaurant was a lovely evening or lunch time spot with good service and great food. Eating out on Gili T was very reasonable, we were expecting it to be expensive because it's a small island but everything was so cheap. An Aussie top quality steak for about 1/3 of what we would have paid in Aus. Hubby lived on all the best seafood at very reasonable prices too. Make sure you take a trip around the island in one of the horse and carts, pay the drive for 2hrs instead of 1hr and have lunch over the other side of the island, very chilled out on the other side and worth a look. Several great places for dinner within walking distance. Enjoy you time on Gili T.
Check-in took to long because the check-in guy kept taking phone calls, while others stood around doing nothing. Maybe they need more trained staff on the check-in/phones at reception. The bed and pillows were to hard, so i ended up with a bad back.

Salty water in pool and showers
- Location is great - Quick problem solving on personnel side - Very friendly, although sometimes a little impersonal staff
- Breakfast quality is very average although the selection is big (you could find a large number of smaller villas down the road which include breakfast for much smaller price and they serve better food) - Prices are extremely high comparing to most places on the island - No Fan/aircon in any of the restaurants/bars. Breakfast area feels like a sauna even at 8 am!

The rooms were lovely and modern, big comfortable beds and a nice outside bathroom. The location was great, just at the end of the strip of bad and restaurants, so close to everything but far enough away from the noise.
The shower was salt water, although a bucket and fresh water tap are provided.can be difficult to get a sunbed as they allow anyone to use them, not just guests which is annoying.
Room was excellent, spacious, a/c worked well, cleaning staff were very helpful and friendly. Entire staff would automatically greet you. Facilities are top notch, pool, breakfast, restaurants and bars by the beach. The island itself is beautiful with spectacular beaches. A bit more primitive than Bali but in a good way. No motocycles or cars, just rent a bike at the hotel and use the horse drawn carts.
Be aware that this is a family resort so there will be children. Not an issue but be aware that the water system is salt but there is a fresh water tap in the shower area to rinse off. The pool is salt water as well but was no problem for me. These were not issues to me and I plan to return as soon as I can for a longer stay.

One of the staff in the dive centre was rude and inpatient and ruined my first dive experience.

We arranged transfers through the hotel which didn't turn up. When we arrived they advised us they were overbooked and they were going to move us to another resort, after much debate, they gave us rooms, some of our friends had to share a bed but given we had paid and it was peak season we didn't want to move. Unsure if they overbook commonly or just wanted to move us to a less popular resort on the other side of the island.
Great location. Food quality and menu were good although had to pay and could not sign to room. Boat/Car transport (for a fee) was good.
Staff did not provide proper instructions of facility available as part of hotel. Not clear what is part of hotel and what is not and had to determine on my own. Quality of staff poor overall and were not helpful.
nice hotel, very comfortable for family with older children and also young children like Us, the Staff are nice and very helpfull..though sometime I feel they give more hospitality to some foreign tourist than local visitor
for 2 nights my husband and I been fighting with bedbugs in our bed (#5), untill they upgrading our room on the last day. They should not give unproper room to the guest.

Things seem to be falling apart a little. Thought the hotel complex would be smaller so felt the charm as lost a little.
Location is very good, far from the mosque (located around Dreamvillage, middle of the east side of the island) so if you're not into hearing call for prayers 5 times a day (and starting at 4:50 am) the hotel is a very good choice. Located at the beach (1 minute walk from your room) and very good value for money. Especially if you are looking for something away from the backpacker/surfing/diving crowd. Though it is a bit more expensive than the general room on Gili t, I would recommend it to anyone looking for some peace and quiet. Due bear in mind, for great snorkeling, you should be on the north east part of the Island. Rooms were tidy and clean and the service impeccable.
Food can be tough sometimes, especially the fresh fish bbq at night; although they keep saying the fish is super fresh, be weary of partially raw parts of tuna and prawn. Although good value for money, how much time do you really spend in your room? This questions makes the hotel somewhat expensive

the room was tiny compared to the photo, and therefore disappointing it was a resort and no where near as quaint as we imagned, far more commercial with over 100 rooms We had a problem with bed bugs, lots of them, but once raised it was handled well by managment and we were upgraded the F&B service was very slow indeed, frustratingly so the prices quoted by the hotel for boats and car pick up was 50% higher than other quotes Wireless was limited and didnt work very well
The unique "Lumbung" (Lombok traditional architectures) of the some cottages. First class services of Reception Desk that put high efforts to send people to return my left ID card from the island to next hotel in Lombok

Very friendly and approachable staff, nice location, not too far from the oat terminal and an excellent dive shop and staff.
The rooms were very dated and in some desperate need of renovation and insect proofing. There was only a tap for freshwater, both the shower, sink and swimming pool used saline groundwater. Would have been nice to have a hot, freshwater showe at the end of a day diving instead of a salty shower followed by a cold freshwater rinse from a tap and bucket!
Breakfast was good.
Breakfast staff were unfriendly and poor service. The pool was dirty and we are covered in rashes and sores. The bed head is full of dust/cobwebs. No teaspoons for tea/coffee facilities. Railings on stairs to room were full of termites and rotton - very dangerous. Rooms are overpriced and not value for money.
