The facilities at Madonna Studios are excellent, but the real difference is Thomais. - I liked the room which was big and bright, I could easily prepare my own dish as the cooker, coffee maker, kettle were provided or go to the tavern which was just across the street. the landlady was very helpful, kind and she even baked for us traditional cakes with cheese!! we had fresh flowers every day too.I stayed for 3 days and truly enjoyed it.

We have spent 5 days in the place and really enjoyed the location close to the sea. Just crossing the road takes to the beach and two restaurants nearby. There is a bus stop, several shops around and you can rent a car as well. The town is not noisy while still on a short distance to Chania. The closest beach is not a large one but it is still convenient and you can get in 10 minutes by bus to another one, much larger. Great food in local restaurants, nice location for a late walk. At Elena apartment i had a relaxing & lovely time in this hotel. The host Elena and Nikos were amazing, some of the most hospitable people i have come across. Very Good value apartments in a lovely village setting. You will find it
a bit of a walk uphill with luggage from the bus stop near the inka
supermarket but the owner, Georgia will pick you up if you contact her.
It is this remote setting that gives the apartments a quiet peaceful
atmosphere in a small village area and is part of its charm. Our
apartment was great. 2 floors with a bedroom upstairs. The kitchen was

This is the place to stay at Sougia. Big comfortable room, ultra clean is what we needed for a 2 days stay to hike down the gorges. Hotel owner Markos did more than the expected making all arrangements for our hiking trip which is much appreciated and definitely something most people need when going to hike in the surrounding gorges of Samaria and Agia Irini.

We received excellent advice and recommendations from Fanis on places to go, restaurants and bars to try, assistance with car hire and trips - he couldn't do enough to make sure you experienced the best of Crete. Every day we had a half hour consultation with Fanis before embarking on our adventures and we can't fault any of the recommendations.
