  The Alster Hof was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Hamburg. The hotel is located close to downtown shopping, the staff are very friendly and helpful (eg. went out of their way to help knowing that I was unwell during my stay), a comprehensive breakfast and free internet access were provided and it was very well priced. -... hva folk sier » convenient location (very near to train station), staff was very friendly and helpful, room was modern and clean

  This is a great hotel to stay at in Hamburg. It has a cozy feel, and good sized rooms and bathrooms. We were able to walk right into the city center in about 15 minutes, and another 5 minutes to the lake. There is also a metro stop very close by, and it's a 10 minute walk to the Reeperbahn, however, it's far enough away to not be disturbed by any n... hva folk sier » oise.
