  The Alster Hof was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Hamburg.   So well appointed, everything one might normally expect in a classy hotel was there. A neat touch was the magazine rack, even if we couldn't read German! The staff were excellent and able converse easily in English which enhanced the visit for us.
