- The staff were really friendly and great. My sudden visit to this hotel was unexpected due to cancelled flight. Whilst at the airport I decided to book a room at Meininger Hotel for easy access back to the airport very early next morning. Upon submitting my request to stay one night on letsbookhotel.com I was virtually checked in to a room straight away at about 9am. I was very grateful to the staff for allowing me to get some well deserved rest.

Located in Friedrichshain, very near U and S-Bahn stations. The area is a bit edgy with lots of night-life....but it still felt safe. Excellent facilities with a modern lobby. It felt more like a hotel than a hostel. Interesting historical building with an amazing courtyard in centre of the building. Double rooms had a/c which was greatly appreciated in a heat wave. The Hotel is very new and very attractively decorated. The room we had was very big - it had 3 beds in it and a settee! We had a problem with our room (it was smelling smoke) and people from
reception had a quick and nice reaction, they changed our room, thing
that we appreciate a lot. Breakfast is quite good with a german touch
(muesli, german delicatessen and german cheeses, german bread).

The staff was very helpful in providing excellent restaurant recommendations within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel was situated within walking distance of Museum Island and the Nikolaiviertel so sightseeing was easy. Having a subway station across the street gave us convenient access to the rest of Berlin.
