La villa Garenne is a wonderful guesthouse for a stay in Vannes as it is very close to the old city and to the port (the city itself justifies a visit). The house is nicely renovated, rooms are charming, beds are comfortable, the owner is nice and helpful and a good breakfast is offered. Truly recommended. Although very well situated, it was not easy to find (even with GPS), therefore if you have trouble to get there, the best way is to look for St.Joseph’s Parking (a free public parking close .
alle vurderinger » La Villa Garenne is a perfectly situated, fully renovated historic home with access to the medieval walled city of Vannes right across the street. The room was lovely and the bed so comfortable. We were served homemade yogurt, fresh croissants and pastries, coffee, tea and juice in a lovely dining room before setting out for the rest of our journey. The proprietors could not have been more charming or helpful. Would definitely highly recommend. La villa Garenne is the perfect guesthouse for a stay in Vannes. It is very well situated - extremely close to the centre. It is a typical French big house, beautifully renovated with nice rooms. The owner is friendly, helpful and speaks very well English.The breakfast is wonderful, and the place is very good value for money. I would certainly recommend the guesthouse to other travelers. A true delight! Beautiful location right by the old town and city walls and the marina. Lovely old house with superb interior design. Wonderful owners who delighted in having you stay. While I would not suggest a large plastic sign, some modest signage might be helpful. N/A. Nothing. Rooms were not soundproof, but this didn't prove to be a problem. Can't think of anything not to like. one small criticism - not enough hanging space available!. Have an arthritic knee so found the stairs rather steep. If you don't have sat-nav make sure you get directions or have a good map. Parking was difficult - always hard to find a space nearby and impossible on the first sunny Saturday afternoon of the year. Two flights of stairs to the bedrooms could be difficult for some people. Parking was awkward, with much competition for places. It's impossible to take of the shower from the wall, there are no conditioner. The Wi-Fi signal was weak (on the third floor). Hard and small bed.
