We have been before & stayed in Bayeux, but if we return again will only stay here! In fact, even if we were visiting the British beaches, we would stay here & commute! We stayed in the suite where there is a hallway connecting two bedrooms & a very nice modern bath. Furnishings were the beautiful French country/antique style, bathroom was modern & large. Everything was warm & cozy. Finally an owner who understands the value of soft sheets, fluffy towels & nice toil. alle vurderinger »
Lovely stay with attention to guest comfort in heart of Norman countryside. Ideal location near D-Day beaches and towns. Family room (2 separate with shared bath) was ample for two teenagers and a little romance for parents. Truly charming and satisfying breakfast included homemade jams and breads. Hosts helped with recommendations for restaurants, activities and tour guides.
This was the perfect place to stay for us. We were there to see the DDay beaches and other WW2 sites, and this was a country sanctuary for us while we were there. The rooms were perfect and the restaurant that the owner recommended, John Steele, was one of the best meals we had in our two week stay in France. Stay here you won't regret it.
Beautiful place, really relaxing atmosphere. Bed was really comfortable, nice spa rain shower. Lovely breakfast with lots of choice and homemade breads & jam.
*I would have liked more information on the history of the Manior de Juganville.
wonderful peaceful out-of-the way individual hotel with great charm and character as well as comfy beds and top-notch bathroom!
Breakfast to beat all, with home-made preserves and breads plus a lovely log fire to greet you in the morning!.
Lovely quiet location and despite the cold weather and lack of power, we had a warm welcome from our hosts. Our room - the suite - was very spacious for 3 people. We would return and would recommend this establishment.
Lovely and unique place, an old chateau, 4 km from St Mere Iglese. Reasonably close to Utah Beach. The room was super comfy and the breakfast generous. Unlike anywhere I've ever stayed. I also enjoyed their sweet cats.
Beautiful location in a restored French chalet with a garden. Room had a large interior with exposed beams hundreds of years old. All details were thought of. Host was helpfull and generous.
I enjoyed everything about the Saint-Martin-de-Varreville. Quiet, comfort, spacious, clean, wonderful grounds, close by all the WWII sites, etc., etc.
Home made bread, cakes ,jams and cider.
Very old with character, owner very welcoming.
Good Restaurant in St Mere Eglise Le John Steele.
Location,Staff & Breakfast were all excellent. An ideal place to stay in order to see WWII sites or just to explore Normandy.
The age of the building, the countryside surrounding it. It was peaceful. The room was very big and the bed very comfortable.
Le Manoir de Juganville is in a lovely setting. We stayed in the family suite which was relaxing and comfortable.
Lovely Accommodations! Pascal and Chantal were wonderful hosts in their lovely Manior. Would recommend to all!.
Personal touches to the property and the breakfast with home made produce. The family suit was excellent.
Very close to Utah Beach and the D-Day sites. Very large room and bath. Good restaurants nearby.
Host and hostess were so helpful. Breakfast was great.
Beautiful location to see WWII sites.
We like the building how it was preserved or kept. It's beautiful old building but cool.
Beautiful building and location, friendly staff, lovely suites.
Building, room, location, owners, ambiance, log fire.
Beautiful French manor house, absolutely outstanding.
beautiful house. rooms were very well designed.
It had so much charm. Will stay again!.
Everything, just perfect.
Nothing…this place is perfect!.
Nothing! Only wish we could have stayed longer. Well priced for excellent accommodation.
I'm 6 foot 4 inches, and the there are places with low ceilings- doorways (it was built in the 16th century). I hit my head once- but I would stay here again in a heart beat.
Indoor cats in the reception/ breakfast area. This didn't bother me but some people may not like.
No T.V in the bedrooms, again- this accomodiation is more about reading a book and relaxing in the historical building. But this may be an issue with some.
In my opinion a pool would be a really good addition to this property.
this hotel was hard to beat, and you'd have to be really picky to find any fault. There are 4 cats, which we loved....the house and grounds are superb. More hangers please?.
Breakfast, although adequate was lacking compared to other similar establishments we have stayed in.
It's in a rural area, so grab dinner where you can find it before heading in for the night. I wish the host's English had been a little better, since communication could be challenging at times.
I didn't get to bring my lovely wife along this time, she'll be sure to be with me on the next trip and she will thoroughly enjoy Saint-Martin-de-Varreville.
Nothing.
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
You do need a car.
It's in a countryside.
Rural means rural! Be aware that there is nowhere nearby to eat dinner or get money out etc. Cash only (no credit cards) was a little inconvenient and the language barrier (no English spoken at all) made life a little more challenging.
UHT milk, but the same all over the region.
