Stayed in room 14 which is a an upgrade room. Renovations were recently done and I would imagine we were one of the first few to stay in this room. The room was very large (bigger than US hotel rooms for sure) with a queen bed and two leather chairs along with a desk and a bureau (and TV). All the amenities provided. The staff spoke limited english but was very helpful and spoke enough to get by. The location is great as its near the castle and the main walking street with all the cafes an.
alle vurderinger » - Excellent location within the Loire Valley (Amboise is quite picturesque and charming) and adjacent to Royal Chateau Amboise; lots of shops/restaurants mere steps from hotel - easy access driving to chateaux in Loire Valley; free parking nearby - clean rooms; spacious for European standards - helpful staff; desk clerks spoke English well - good assortment at breakfast (breads, meats/cheeses, fruit, yogurt, coffe/tea/juice) in nice reatuarant with attentive staff - reasonable price. Stayed three nights. The hotel is perfectly sited in central Amboise right by the river bridge. Free car parking at a public site across the road. The hotel is still being renovated so no restaurant or bar when we were there, but plenty 100 metres away in town. When completed the facilities should be very good. Our room was at the back looking at the castle and was quiet and restfull. Excellent continental breakfasts. Will stay again. Beautiful location and very amenable staff. We arrived late and all restaurants wee closed. Bar had run out of bread - we pushed for whatever they could privide us with - and the young man delivered us a beuatiful cheese/fruit tray. Upon leaving we realized days later my husband had forgotten his sports jacket - staff kindly assisted us in getting it shipped back to Vancouver!. The location was perfect! View of the Loire River, adjacent to the chateau, only a few short blocks to the main touristic streets and Sunday open air market. The room we stayed in (#7) had been recently refurbished, everything was sparkling clean and looked brand new. The terrace (shared with two other rooms) was beautiful, overlooking the river and bridge. Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff and owner, excellent breakfast (almost gourmet quality). Jean Francois, the owner, is down to earth, very personable and friendly, and try very hard to make things smooth and accommodative to guest. His attitude definitely transpires down to his staff well. We were delighted with the Hotel Bellevue & would definitely stay there again. Amboise is beautiful French town with so much to offer the tourist, the Chateaux are amazing & definitely worth seeing. We really enjoyed our time here. The restaurants & food the best we had had on our trip so far!. Hotel is in an excellent location on the river and next to Amboise chateau and Clos de Luc is just up the road a bit within walking distance, there are plenty of restaurants nearby and good shopping. We had a lovely large terrace thru the French doors of our bedroom overlooking the water. Great location along the river in Amboise. Easy to find. Newly remodeled rooms are awesome! Nice breakfast buffet, and a great bar to visit after a long day of chateu hopping. Great restaurants within walking distance. Nice shared balcony on the second floor. Location was perfect!!! Center of everything we wanted to see in the Loire and a wonderful choice of excellent restaurants near by as well as a TI. View was spectacular with window looking over the bridge and river. The rooms were fantastic, the staff was always very helpful, the continental breakfast was outstanding, and the Lounge B was very relaxing and fun and Annika the bartender was so warm and personable we stayed there much longer than we should have!. I recommend Hotel Bellevue for anyone that can manage a few stairs. Rooms are very comfortable and clean, the staff are really nice. It is not a luxury hotel but the location is perfect for Amboise and the Loire Valley. I definitely recommend. Room size was good. Room seemed recently renovated. Amboise is wonderful! Hotel is located on the river directly opposite the bridge. Pretty view but be aware that morning traffic is heavy and can be noisy with the windows open. I enjoyed the design of the hotel although I could have done without having to climb stairs to get to the lobby. This would not be a problem if you don't have a broken foot or disability Staff were fantastic and very helpful. Old-fashioned style appealing. Great location for visiting the Chateux and lovely breakfast with fresh bread and pastries. Our particular room could only be reached using a pretty small circular staircase so if you have trouble with stairs this isnt the room for you. The only other problem with our room was that it let in a lot of light through the bathroom but other than that we very much enjoyed the hotel. - No concerns. The renovation work needs to be completed quickly as it is holding the hotel back. Only had one night to spend with you. No air conditioning or window for ventilation. The weather was mild, and we left our terrace door ajar overnight, but this wouldn't work if 1) the weather was hot, 2) the terrace neighbors had been out, or 3) we were more worried about the neighbors' noises or intrusions. Small room, few problems with amenities in the room (bathroom door hits toilet seat, water leaks at glass door hinges) due to poor planning and quality of construction. Room was small but we were rarely there so was not an issue. Made up for by view, friendliness, and location!. There is absolutely no reason not to like this hotel and everything about it!!!!. Although money had been spent on renovations, two five dollar valves (one on the toilet and one on the radiator) leaked. We were even instructed on how/when to open and close the toilet valve so as not to have water all over the floor. Wifi was a little sketchy. No parking available at hotel, they don't have any. We did manage to find some down the street but not easy if its peak season or market day. Room was a decent size and convenient to chateaus and town centre. The coffee at breakfast should be better. It was cold and had been left to sit too long. That's all!. Our west-facing (river view) room was a little warm in the afternoon (no AC), but it cooled quickly in the evening. A "castle view" room might be cooler if you're an afternoon napper, but that's just a guess. none. There was absolutely nothing to our dislike. No complaints. we don't like the staff, man wasn't polite!!!. No air-conditioning and location on a very noisy street so it was very difficult to sleep. If we left the windows open to get some cool air, the noise from local bars at night and trucks early in the morning were very loud. If we closed the windows, it was very warm in the room. Breakfast marginal with poor coffee. parking is an issue, no space for offloading the luggage if someone blocks the "no parking" area as it happened to me. No bar. They had a terrace overlooking the river, but it was for the rooms at the front. How nice it would have been if we could have had a beer on the terrace. Our second bedroom did not overlook the river as requested on booking. There was nothing to dislike. Hotel was a little dated. Room was a bit smelly and sadly not as designed as the lobby! No private parking!. Teh hotel looked abit tired.and needed some better/ cleaner carpets and bathrooms. There is no on site parking although we had no trouble finding free road parking within a few minutes of the hotel. However it was November so I suspect it would be a problem in high season. The hotel was a little overpriced for what it offered. Parking a problem Bed a little hard No kettle in room Expensive for what you get. Very noisy room - rubbish collection at 4.30am; street cleaning for 30 mins outside at 6.50am. Drunken revellers outside in street at 2am. No replenishment of toiletries daily. The noise of the traffic - fine if windows closed but no air-con in room so necessary to get fresh air. Wouldn't like to be there in heat of summer! Rooms at back may be better. - Small basic room - room was overlooking busy main road.
