The hotel is excellent in relation to price, necessity and cleanliness. The hotel is to use as a base camp for sightseeing and not for a relaxing hotel stay. The basic rooms are clean, big enough and with a separate shower/bathroom (not that common in lower priced hotels in China). The staff speak English which was a pleasant change based on our experience, however their patience did not extend to helping us with directions and recommendations for sightseeing. The price is very good for the stay and the rooms are clean and free of smoke smells which is an important plus for us. That is rare in hotels in China. The staff, Eunice, was very helpful in helping us via email to secure a rental car before we arrived in Harbin, and the fees and the driver was reliable and safe. I would recommend this hotel to family travellers. Great location in the very center of Harbin (3 minutes to St. Sophia Church, 5 minutes to Zhongyang Walking Street, a lot of KFC and Starbucks, shopping malls around). Clean room, nice English-speaking staff, everything was cool. We liked the food court located next door to the hotel - delicious and cheap. Price was good Staff could speak reasonable amount of English Right near the Saint Sophia Square Typical Ibis quality (nothing special, but worth the price tag). One of the better hotels I stayed in. This was the second time I stayed there and all the time I have the discussion that they didn’t find my name in the system even I showed them my booking conformation. The breakfast was very poor and seemed the staff was not clear on the time the restaurant was to remain open. The staff has lack to nothing of the english language. For an int'l chain hotel, this is critical if guests cannot communicate freely with the staff for informations or help. Also, they could learn to smile more!. No hand-towels Very thin towels No hairdryer in the room No wifi, only wire network Tea bags were not restored the last day Very dirty under the bed. Floor in the room was not clean, it was tacky. Shower head was broken. not clean. room service: almost nonexistant. some long hair on the pillow ,and also in the bathroom,breakfast was simple....... Weird smell in our room (228). Meager breakfast, noisy crowd of people around, the lack of basic knowledge of the English.
