Fine old former coaching inn, in a pleasant location in the centre of Gmünd. A long-established and family-run, it has modernised and moved with the times without losing its individuality and character. Friendly and polite reception and service. Spacious room. Very reasonable price for the quality of hotel and food.

Gasthof Kohlmayr is a wonderful place! This hotel is very charming, has
a great location in the heart of Gmund, staff is great, and the rooms
have so much more charm than most hotels today.
Easy to find parking. Wonderful food at the restaurant and a great breakfast. Good service and very good value for the money.
The historic building an a historic town provided a wonderful sense of authenticity to our brief stay.

Smoking in the bar- close to the Restaurant. However, this is an Austria wide problem and is not confined to the Kohlmayr.

No Wifi in the rooms.
Just a timing issue I think, but when we arrived we found out that the
hotel was actually closed for a week, as was the restaurant of the
hotel. There was a note on the door with a telephone number that we
could call in case we couldn't get in (not necessary as we happened
to arrive at the same time as the owner). We were the only guests in the
hotel. This was not a problem for us though.
