The location is perfect, close to everything thanks to Flinders Station and the tram, but you can just walk as well. The bathrooms are clean, and the kitchen as clean as it can be in a backpacker. I would definitely stay again at Greenhouse Backpackers if I'm coming back to Melbourne. - Fantastic location right in the centre of Melbourne - Excellent facilities - Comfortable Rooms and beds - Themed evening where different ideas are provided each day (eg. Visit the night markets on Wednesday, Pub Crawl on Thursday).

Close to best laneway café: Degraves St and Centre Pl. Security, comfortable beds, spacious rooms, facilities- large kitchen, washing machines, good size lockers and a whole bunch of little hooks, shelves, thoughtful lighting systems etc to make life easy. Locate in the city centre of Melbourne. Nice staff. Rooms were big enough for average 6 people. 5 computers available for those who didn't bring one. Big tv room. Big kitchen. staff are friendly. the backpacker arranged activities everyday from monday to friday. e.g., free pasta dinner, queen victoria night market tour, free town walking tour, etc. close to the center, clean & comfortable, nothing to pay in advance, breakfast included (instant coffee, tea, milk, toasts, jam, vegemite, peanut butter ...). They arrange many great things like an evening visiting local pubs and making dinner for everyone. Check out their prices for tours! They are very good!. Good position very close to st paul cathedral and federation square. There is the kitchen so you can cook by yourself. Rooms are small but comfortable. If you're sleeping on the street side, you can hear everything that's going in outside. free wifi only available in public area and it's very slow. magnetic keys not working properly: had to try almost 20 times before door opens each time. Seems to be the same thing for everyone. Our room was without windows but it was ok and we already knew it. wifi very bad. Sometimes the "quiet floor" sleeping areas weren't as quiet as I preferred them to be, but overall it didn't bother me. the professionallism of counter staff is now at the same level. generally speaking, male staff are friendly and very helpful when responding to enquiries while female staff are seems to be unfamiliar with service/general questions. free wifi only in common area price. Really horrendous free WiFi access that is slow and rarely works more than 10mn in a row. Room electrical sockets not sufficient (only 2 in the room whereby it's a 6 pax sharing). Breakfast hours too early, perhaps need to extend the timing till later. After requesting online for a bottom bunk, (due to shoulder operation), a top bunk was only available, therefore a difficult uncomfortable climb above another lower bunk customer that slept day & night. It would be much better if the wifi can be more stable!!. Bathroom had a little mold. not at all. no lock on the cabinet, you can purchase one from receptionist but it's 6 AUD. Also the cabinet won't fit with 30 inch suitcase for a long trip like me. But it's still safe generally, except you'll need to take valuable things with yourself. Being in the Middle of Melbourne, street noise + dorm noise does not aide sleep. Staff needs improvement. Walls were quite thin and able to hear people in hallways and rooms. Was disturbing at times. small shower cubicles. 1, There is a wall in the room, makes not convenient talk to each other. 2, It will be better if there is a bar. bad wifi connexion: very slow and no service very often. Only one lift. Room card easy loose function. No padlock provided, but you can buy one from the reception. N/A. very good!. Room key doesn't work on level 4 main entrance & on the room door; wifi connection runs very slow and stairs before reaching the elevator to 6th floor (reception). - only 2 electrical plug for room of 5 people, especially when there's selfish people who always use the plug the whole day. So I can't use it. So there is no individual plug for each bed. Even the electrical plug in common area (dining room) is almost always full - no wifi in room area - card key is a bit of a magic trick (hard to use, need to try like 3-4 times everytime until can open the door). Bed was new but not comfortable and our window faced a concrete wall!. The shower water in the bathroom is not hot enough. A lot of people were inconsiderate about the thin walls of the rooms, so it was hard to get to sleep. Our room was small, without window, close to bathroom, a lot of noise. Very expensive for that room. The showers, water was less than luke warm and dirty Kitchen was too small and unorganised. People who stayed for quite some time built a dump in the room... Very noisy rooms, we could feel the people all night going in and out of every bedroom, not recomenden for people with problems to sleep. One of the staffs wasn't very friendly and rude to customers. Unclean. Internet very slow and horrible staff.
