The beautiful house. The warm and comfortable convict cottage accommodation. It was quiet and we were welcomed into the main house to enjoy the beautiful lounge and have a coffee or port. It was close to restaurants and easy to access the marina. Picked up for our tour to Port Arthur from the front door. An absolutely fantastic experience. Would recommend to friends and family. It is in a central locatiion, close to public transport, walking distance to the shops, wharf and bus terminals. The Host and Hostess are very helpful and friendly. The building is heritage listed and in good condition. Good opportunity to have conversations with other guests.
alle vurderinger » Loved staying at 'convict cottage', everything was perfectly thought of to make it an amazing stay! Warm & cozy interior, with all the comforts of home...& then some! Awesome spa bath, comfy bed, yummy breakfast supplied, private patio... would defiantly recommend!. The room was amazing and so warm and comfortable. The home is secure and luxurious for being away from home. Graeme catered my breakfast for an early start. A beautiful experience, definitely to be repeated!. The Lodge is within a few minutes walk of North Hobart where there is a great choice of eateries, a cinema complex and bookshops. Large rooms, good breakfast and friendly staff made my stay enjoyable. The staff was wonderful and helpful in every way. The continental breakfast was great, and coffee, tea, and cookies were available throughout the day. The building was unique and well-decorated. I This is a grand old building with lots of character. The lounge room is very comfortable with port, tea,coffee and cake available. the hosts are very welcoming. Breakfast was sufficient. I loved how the place had all the mod cons but still retained most of the historical charm. I liked reading about the building's history and imagining its occupants in days gone by!. We stayed in "The Cottage" which was wonderful. Great attention to detail in every respect. Very friendly staff/managers. A small maintenance problem was promptly rectified. Delightful B&B and a very welcome stay after our Overland Track trip. Lovely attention to detail, the Tawny Port went down a treat. Recommend, thanks Alan & Sonya. Our first impression was the way the old heritage building had been kept , we were very excited to be a part of history. A Lovely old mansion with well furnished rooms and a warm welcome from the owners. We very much enjoyed our stay. The breakfast. everything. Within walking distance of Hobart harbour and easy driving distance to sights of interest. The Staff. No hotel parking - Visitor Permit to park in the street. Having to leave!. The rooms are small with not much room for luggage. There are many steps to access firstly the front and back doors, as well as more steps to get to your room. Parking is on the street. The Lodge is on a busy corner so there is a lot of traffic noise. I liked everything, it suited me well!. As Hobart was experiencing somewhat of a heatwave when we stayed, air conditioning at least to upstairs bedroom would have been a bonus. Street parking has potential to be a problem-no on-site parking available. Nothing. Being on the corner of two busy streets the morning traffic noise was a bit disturbing. however if we had an inside, garden room there would not have been any noise. Perhaps the two seater couch in the living area of the cottage could be a little bigger. The honey bottle at breakfast was too old to be used... No complaint at all!. Nothing. Nothing. small TV , no bottle water in room needed to go to shop near by for some. Limited parking. nothing. The noise. We had lots of street noise and because we were near the breakfast room we were woken in the mornings with early risers, 6.30am, so didn't get much sleep!.
