I have read a lot of negative comments about the ambassadors hotel. If you are expecting the Hilton don't stay there. We found it very clean, comfortable & friendly. Great value for location. We wouldn't hesitate in staying there again. i liked the 'old-style' feel and look of the hotel. people were friendly and helpful. the food in the restaurant was delicious. the bar was nice, cosy abnd friendly. overall it is a place i would return to stay and recommend to others.
alle vurderinger » i loved the friendly staff! This has been my second stay there and ill definately return. Great value for money too. Its good to have a cheap place to stay, with friendly staff and the rooms are great value for money. the beds were confortable and linen soft and very clean. old world style building with intricate passages and a very old lift but workable. very central close to everything within walking distance very friendly staff. Close to transport. Very friendly and obliging staff. I loved the rabbit warren affect to find my room, that made it more adventurous :) and the elevator is classic.....loved it! It is a very quaint building. I enjoyed being able to go to all the shops of Rundal Mall, the Adelaide markets, the restaurants etc, plus was able to catch the bus locally to the caravan/motorhome show, and back easily. Staff we're fantastic, really helpful and friendly. Location was in the heart of the CBD right opposite the tram, the hotel also does great food. The Ambassadors Hotel was I wanted for a over night stay, it had all the facilities that are need by a person staying over night. The central location in the CBD easy access for alady by herself Meals very good all staff friendly felt safe staying there. Very good location, warm-hearted staff, day tours pick up right at the front door, comfortable and memorable stay here. The location near transportation and shopping. The wake up call, cab calling for us and early checking in was allowed. The staff were helpful and friendly. The shower was the best. It was good accomadation for what you paid for. Location very good. was a bit if a rabbit warreb, until i could find my way around the place. the lift only goes to the 2nd floor and i was on the 3rd floor. this is not a 'dislike' as such..it addedto the 'quirkiness of the hotel, which i definitely liked. noisy sliding bathroom door challenging passages to find direction we had to go up to the third floor lagging our suitcases from the second floor because the lift only went to the second floor. It was really just a bed and a shower but that's all I needed. It is not a 5 star hotel. It's an old building. I don't want to fault it. I would stay there again for a low budget room :). N/A, though I had a fright in the lift. I opened the door and found a brick wall. I hate lifts. Though I did make a trip on the scared to avoid the lift again. I was able to us the lift next time, and I feel confortable using it now. The Fridge was noisy at night. The main lights in the room were very dim. Nothing really, rooms are fairly basic, but that was what we expected based on description and cost. The only thing which I didn't like was the step from the bathroom into the bedroom. I forgot about the step a couple of times and almost fell. the air con is a bit noisy. The airconditioner/heater filter was extremely dirty that it smelled bad in the room. The staff said they would clean it. It wasn't cleaned when I returned the end of the day. I cleaned it myself. The lift . The lift wasn't working half the time as doors had been left open. Powerpoint in our room was loose and not working. (Only realized after the kettle never boiled). And no time to plug into another power point as it was check out time. My husband had a $36 meal (steak with prawns) and the steak was the toughest and driest he'd ever tasted. The hotel is really old. double bed was 2 singles pushed together. needs exhaust fan in bathroom. High time for a renovation. No mixture taps at bathrooms. The lift only goes to the second floor so don't take a lot of luggage! There is no parking but the hotel has a deal with a nearby multistorey carpark. The man at the desk couldn't find any passes so just told us to pay the normal rates. Pretty unimpressed with that. cracked cup on tray in room,bathroom needs an overhaul. nothing. Very old building, needs some improvements. nothing. Rooms could be updated at bit. Air conditioner very noisy had to turn it off when sleeping. The room was a little noisy during the night. furniture: wardrobe was lousy,better no wardrobe at all. Room and bathroom were clean,but the ceiling should be renovated. Can I describe how bloody hard it was with children, Pram, Shopping!!! No, it was terrible... I definetely had a work out with all the lifting and up/down the stairs... My gosh!!!!!!!!!! The resurant was also shut so I had to take my children into the bar for a meal which was not very lovely providing the tables were taken so we had to sit on the lounge and I also had to request a high chair for my littlest one which took a good 30mins to get!!!. Power poiints loose; no staff at reception and no bell; no directory in room about how to make phone calls, how to contact reception, meal times etc; insufficient light to read by; toiletries supply was erratic eg: one day you'd get shampoo and conditioner and next day you would't; also biscuits one day, not the next; did not like Pokies on the premises - they were close to front desk and a bit offputting. Would not go there again and would not recommend at all. Rather 'tired' and in need of decoration and 'up-dating'. Overall the hotel is a bit dated. Our room had a large air conditioning unit in the window which blocked out most of the natural light making it rather dingy. - the breakfast could have been better - often things ran out and it was difficult to find a staff member - very noisy at night with bottles been thrown into bins at all times of night. Rooms need updating. When we arrived from the airport at 8:30pm no-one could direct us to a restaurant that was open and closeby. The staff should know the area at least. Then we were kept awake for 2 nights because of the back alley noises. We were on the 3rd floor! The garbage and other trucks were very loud, bottles thrown around and sorted. Conversations with lots of swearing outside our window. And the breakfast is bare basic with no-one around for help. could not get a meal after 8.00pm in midweek. Venue was heritage so I expected it to be old, but it was tired, grubby in parts, no lid on toilet which was right in view when in bed, shower was in need of painting or tiling, pictures on website grossly misleading. Breakfast is off a packet without any cooked food. The mould in the bathroom, the fact that the bathroom hadn't been cleaned there was used shampoo and soap still in there and shaved hair on the wall. No gluten free meals. Other staff were abrupt and unhelpful. The room was very shabby. The bathroom was dirty and there were many tiles missing from the shower recess. Overpriced for the condition of the family room. The room was spacious, however, no daylight due to the fact that the window was partially boarded up and the rest taken by the noisy, outdated air conditioning unit. The bedroom carpet was filthy. The toilet looked dirty so I tried to clean it but soon realised that it was stained as a result of wear and tear. The entire bathroom was very shabby. More than once the lift doors had not been closed so the lift became stationary. The facility felt like a fire trap. I was very concerned if there was a fire how would we get out. The wifi was spotty at best and the window air conditioning unit was so loud we could not hear the TV. Overall not a comfortable stay. Facility is very tired and run down. cracks in the wall. toilet stains in the toilet. shower curtain moulding at the bottom. old heating system. not enough power points in convenient places. breakfast was not refreshed when items had run out. insufficient lighting in room. crack in mirror. Room was terrible, depressive and noisy. I can't find words to describe bathroom... disgusting!. Room service.
