Staff was excellent - any shortfall of the hotel as far as being outdated and need of updating and renovations was out-shined by the staff at every level. Free bike "rental" was a great bonus. Restaurant attached to hotel was very good with exceptional service and great prices. Every request I made prior to check-in, through letsbookhotel.com was met including extra towels, early check-in and a room next to the friends I was travelling with.
alle beoordelingen » We stayed at Newcastle Hotel in Virginia Beach in June 3013 with 5 other families. We had a Great time. The staff at Newcastle were wonderful! We loved having access to beach bikes provided by the Hotel. The Hotel location is wonderful! All five families said they would stay again. The Lighthouse restaurant located at the Hotel was friendly, clean, had really tasty food and so nice to have just a few steps away!. Loved the location! The staff were very friendly. The lighthouse cafe at the hotel had a very good menu :) nice indoor pool and loved free bikes to checkout for riding..had stayed here before and would stay again!!. We liked our visit all-in-all. It was our honey-moon and for being on a budget I'd have to say the price was worth the stay especially during Spring Break season. Most of all the ocean view won us over. The staff at the front desk was extremely helpful and accomodating. They were always pleasant and helpful. Some of the best customer services I have had at a hotel ever. The staff was very friendly and courteous. We really enjoyed the ocean view, the beach access,the free bikes and the pool. Rooms were clean and comfy. Love it!. Enjoyed the room and the view of the ocean and the closeness to the beach. The food at the resturant was amazing. It was a nice hotel for a romantic get away. The whirlpool tub in the room was awesome even if it was old, it was still clean. The beach access was very nice. The mattress was comfortable. The newcastle was great right on the beach our room was on the end no noise room was clean everything worked good value. Irealy liked the location and realy liked the standard king room,was big and conftable,would stay there again. The room was very clean, large and comfortable. Loved the whirlpool in the room. I enjoyed my stay. The food at the lighthouse was great. We were treated good. The lighthouse was very nice. The staff were so nice I will come back. Overall we enjoyed our stay at hotel, enjoyed the whirlpool tub. On the beach. Lighthouse was great. Tons shopping, on boardwalk. Great location, clean hotel, wonderful value for the price. Great location on the boardwalk and reasonably priced compared to other motels in same location. We liked the jacuzzi bathtub but it was in the bedroom which was odd. We liked being on the boardwalk and beach. We were able to walk to restaurants. The room was comfortable. The location. All rooms face ocean, quiet and sound of waves/ocean. Central to beach area. ocean view and on the boardwalk. The views were amazing!. the Juzcce tub. Rooms really do need to be renovated and spruced up. Our TV wasn't working for the first 2 days but finally was able to contact someone during business hours (when we were in our room) and it was fixed immediately. Pool should be completely overhauled or else removed. It had the look of a health-hazard rather than a place of recreation. The décor could have been updated. Didnt have enough carts for transporting luggage and cant rent bikes after 10pm. First impression of old country wicker furniture and floral bedding was non-romantic for a honey-moon suite. The jetted tub ended up squirting water across the entire room soaking the front floor. We used towels to clean it all up so we ran out of towels pretty fast. It was awesome memories though. Haha. The pool had some sand at the bottom of it and could have used a vaccumming. I liked it all. The pillows were terrible so tiny! Good thing I always travel with my own. Things were old but we knew that going in. Just wish they would fix the small things. Understand tub and tiles have gotten chipped and repaired over the years but the lamp shade had mildew on it, the remote had no back and the towel rack fell off the wall because it was barely fastened also the cheap plastic furniture on the patio was cracked in several places . Parking was realy close and hard to get into and out. The air conditioner worked, but was noisy & leaked on the balcony, so you could only sit in one spot. Also, part of the balcony needed repair. Was an old hotel & could have used some minor repairs/upgrades. Pool needed to be cleaned - was very cloudy. We were on the ground floor and our sitting place at our back door had a lot of ants. The up ranp for parking - can be dangerous--not 4 stara hotel, but neat and clean. Beds and pillows need updating!!!!. Wi-Fi issues on a daily basis. The tv was horrible,most of the Chanel's did not come in clear. The bed was a full size and not a queen as advertised and I had a queen delux room. Toilet blocked up once. wifi is weak. Our bed did not have a box spring under the mattress. It had a box build of plywood. The bed was so hard we could not sleep and our backs ached. We thought we were getting a king bed but it was queen. The room was small, the building was old. The staff was great, but we would not recommend this hotel. The people in the next room were loud and yelling obscenities til 2 or 3 each morning. Large stains on the carpet,chips out of the headboard,chunks of white stuff came out of the tub jets(gross). The place is in desperate need of some up-dating. Minimal being ok, this is scraping minimal - pool a bit depressing, if warm. Overpriced menu at restaurant attached to hotel. Hotel not such a great value, off season for $80 a bit high. bathroom was very tiny and run down. other than that it was fair but will never stay there again. The beds were very uncomfortable! The hotel itself need to be remodeled the appearence was very unappealing.Also they need to redo the plumbing.But the staff was excellent!!. Ants in the sink in bathroom area, door to our balcany wouldn't lock...didn't feel safe, and the tolet wouldn't stop running. Hads to call down and ask for more pillows...and they wanted me to come get them instead of bring them to me.
