This hotel is right on Seawall Blvd. but there is no sandy beach access area; instead, there are large granite/asphalt blocks broken up (to fortify the sea wall?) and lined up in several rows. One might walk further west a few blocks and find better beach access. Most people here drive to the beach anyway. There is open parking along Seawall Blvd-one parks and climbs down stairs to sand/water. The hotel is nice enough-rooms have individual AC units and are preset to 68.F for coolest setting, bu.
alle beoordelingen » The very friendly and hardworking staff. Everything was always clean! Whatever you needed they took care of right away. The food service lady needs assistants! There's too much for her to do alone although she does it!!!. Really enjoyed it being right across from the seawall and close to a very good restaurant. Also easy to see from both directions. Well maintained. We stayed here in preparation for our wedding. Overall, the stay was pleasant. However, on one of the nights, all of the power went out on the whole block. There was really nothing anyone could do about it but it did cause some problems for us. Other than that, the room was spacious, clean, and in a good location. It was right across from the beach, but further to the west than what we actually thought. Had a nice little continental breakfast each morning with a fairly good variety of things to eat. Convenience to area activities and the pool. Breakfast was fine too. Maintenance arrived quickly and fixed our problems. the beds were awesome. the room was nice and clean. perfect location. Being right on the seawall was nice and the breakfast was great!. Good location, big rooms. Conveninence. good price. Location. That it was close to the beach. Beds were comfortable . Right on sea wall. location. I even rented 2 rooms that were very hot and sweaty. I complained to the front desk and nothing was done. One hotel rep told me that the air condition in the guest rooms were set not to drop below 68 because the entire unit would freeze up and this is the way the hotel can save money. Then next to my room someone had a dog that barked all night long. Absolutely nothing!!!!!. This is a pet-friendly hotel, which I love. Some of the pet owners I saw would do well to brush-up on pet-ownership etiquette, ie. cleaning after their doggies. There aren't many restaurants within reasonable walking distance. No wifi Off & on TV None working phone. Small thing but the effect of being a sea front property was evident. The window frame in our room was badly corroded. This is a pet friendly hotel, clearly some dog owners weren't too disciplined with clearing up their pet's mess in the car park!. Our shower head would leak when we would try to take a shower, but was an easy fix by my roommate. I thought it was quite expensive. Close to $200 for one night. I found out later I could have rented a condo that slept 6 for that and also a beach house. Bathroom walls need painting over repaired sections. The general appearance of the hotel hallways and exterior. The morning breakfasts, the waffle machine only worked one day...no meat like bacon or sausage for bisquits...bisquits were cold. loved the coffee.... Not very friendly staff at front desk when we checked in. Felt like we were really a bother to her. Elevators very slow. No Wifi! Although we were given a login password, we never had access to even attempt to login. Not a major problem but the remote didnt work. n/a. Rooms were not ready on time waited 1 hr and 45 min to ck in. Lots of Mosquitos by the elevator on P level. We had to ask for items on a regular basis during our 4 day stay such as towels & toilet paper even after allowing house keeping to clean or room. The rooms weren't very sound proof and there seemed to be a lot stomping by someone above us! There was no beach to walk on, just the seawall. We had not been down to Galveston since Hurricane Ike's devastation!. Check in was horrible!! It took almost an hour with two people working. Many of the rooms were not ready at 4:30 pm. Luckily ours was ready. Our safe needed batteries and the door needed weatherstripping, both of which got fixed quickly.We might have left something behind and the manager has been slow to call us back. the shower could be updated. Our floor had no ac in the hallway so it was very hot. The pool was dirty and the room service maids took their sweet time cleaning rooms. We checked in after the checkin time of 3 o'clock, and our room still wasnt ready!. Lady at the desk was rude. Not enough front desk help" I was giving the key to an occupied room! I opened the door to a sleeping couple ! Then front desk attendant was too busy to reassign room! chaos and disorganised !. The a/c didn't work. The facility smelled bad and was not cleaned to my standards . The rooms were decently clean but the hallways and lobby were not !. The staff was very unprofessional. When we got there at 5pm they were barely cleaning our room. There wasnt an entry for the 1st floor via the stairs. It was my worst experience at a La Quinta.. :-/. Rooms were dirty had to get someone to come in and clean after they said it had been cleaned. Toothpaste in sink, coffee in pot, floor not vaccumed, dust all over. Room was smelly and damp. Limited amenities. Coffee in the restroom!?. Elevator didn't work most of the time. No refridgerator as promised. Remote didn't work. Barking dog I had to complain about several times. seeingThe hall way was not air conditioned and very humid.Also, our first morning there, we left for the day to go site seeing and was gone from 10:00 am till 6:00 pm and when we got back to our room, it hadn't been cleaned! No bed was made, no new towels, etc. Hotel seemed run down and worn out....ugh. Read comment above. The staff was rude, the entire facility was dirty, elevators slow, breakfast was terrible, very noisy, parking was awful, people hanging around everywhere,, and washers and dryers were noisy and filthy!!!!!!.
