A hair dryer was missing in our apartments, so when we rang them to tell, they brought a new one straight away.   The place I stayed was at Mykhailivs'ka street, very close to Maidan Nezalezhnosti. Sleeping room's windows were facing the backyard, so it was quite calm place to sleep. The kitchen and living room is facing the street, but the noise is little because of the good isolation.
