  The hotel room was excellent; neat pristine and staffed by wonderful staff. I wouldn't hesitate to send anyone there the atmosphere was fantastically relaxing it had a very homely feel to it and was within 10 minutes stroll of the Lowthers pub, 5 minutes from the river and 2 Minutes from 'the wall' conspicuous in York. They also assisted us with drying some of his clothes which was fabulous. The breakfasts were amazing. Also, the rooms were reasonably sound proof which helped our baby get a good night's sleep and also meant other guests didn't hear him!

  my friends and i came to york for a couple of days there was supposed to be four of us but one pulled out so two were booked in your hotel i myself was booked into the travel lodge on arriving at premier inn we noticed that we could have all stayed in the one room but i went down to travel lodge and went to room i we were totaly dissgusted it was v... wat mensen zeggen » ery dirty and truth be nown i wouldent put animals in the rooms soback up to your hotel where i was told i was more than welcomr to stay in the room w - Close to the main train station and to one of the city gates giving access to the city walls. Easy walking distance to the sites of the old city. An absolute gem of an apartment - in all it's medieval wonkiness - half timbered wonky walls, uneven floors, tucked away down an alleyway behind the Trembling Madness pub - well, after all, the buildings do date from about 1650!   I have a gluten allergy and when I informed the reception I was promised a gluten free breakfast i.e. sausage, bread. The next day at breakfast I asked for gluten free bread and sausage and was told there wasn't any, when I later saw the receptionist and told her she was extremely apologetic and assured me there would be at least bread for my bre... wat mensen zeggen » akfast the next day, when I got back into the hotel later that day the receptionist informed me something had been left in our room as a goodwill gest - Marmadukes is a fabulous hotel. We have been coming here annually since 2006 and have stayed in most of the room styles. However, this latest trip was particularly memorable as we received a free upgrade on arrival to the York Suite. It was stunning. And to think we had the whole of the suite for the same price as our original booking was a great touch. Staff at the hotel are lovely - friendly, accomodating and always on hand to offer advice or book a taxi. Location is ideal, in a leafy street

  Me & my friend & her little companion daisy, had a lovely time the priory made our holiday, lovely staff we had a wonderful welcome when we arrived :)home from home, I've stayed in lots of hotels up & down the country 5 stars but I have to say the priory was outstanding they thought of everything, great breakfast, beautiful gardens, we... wat mensen zeggen » will return, & can't Waite for our next visit :) - Just a short walk from the city centre, this is a comfortable and relaxing place to stay. The garden is beautiful, with ruins and lovely flowers, and big enough for guests (and their guests) to sit in the sun without being on top of each other. Nice that there is a bar, and a big car park just at the back..
