Rairly do places live up to their reputation, this is the exception!, Truly a delightfull stay with the locals as friendly as mentioned in other reviews and a true timepiece of a pub just like yesteryear, simon was helpfull and attentive from the moment we arrived. We dined in the evening and enjoyed the reasonably price pub fare as did we the excelent cooked to order breakfast and are looking foreward to our next stay in a weeks time, after bagging the warm spot by the coal fire i forgot it wa.
alle beoordelingen » the staff and owner were exceptionally friendly, there are only a few rooms so you were made to feel welcome not just another customer. the room was very clean and breakfast relaxed and friendly. we ate our evening meal there and it could not be faulted for quality, quantity and value it was also only half mile stroll to beamish museum which was our original destination but would definitely go back to stay again. What a friendly pub / hotel this is! In No Place (honest) not far from the Beamish Museum. Friendly host who never stood still for long (busy night) and outgoing friendly locals who came to speak to us and show us where the bands would be playing that night. Excellent evening meal and breakfast. A good range of beers. Clean, tidy comfortable room. We were put off by the outside of the pub and lack of parking. However, the two rooms we had were well appointed and very clean. The meal we had that night was the best on our trip. If you are thinking of visiting Beamish museum then this is the perfect place to stay. Very accommodating staff, owner answered e-mails with queries very quickly and professionally. Decor was fresh and welcoming. Nice homely pub downstairs with no noise or disruption experienced. Warm and great value for money. Great tv for the price of the room. Nice staff, interesting public area that has not been themed as so many have, great selection of beers / ales, very handy for the Beamish museum etc. Friendly helpful staff, we were going to nearby hotel for function and the lovely barman booked our taxi. The reviews on the website were glowing however the hotel/pub didn't live uo to expectations. It is what it is, somewhere to rest your head. Rooms are comfortable enough, the regulars and staff seemed friendly. The noise from the band didn't carry (thankfully).A Basic overnight stay in a very traditional olde worlde pub with extremely old bar - rather like a working mans club. Food was very good value for money - large portions - too large in our case. Staff very friendly and welcoming Everything was clean and tidy. The stepping back in time feeling. We had booked for two nights but only stayed for one. although rooms were very clean my personal problem was there could have been a bedside light not a massive problem but inconvenient having to get out of bed to turn light out, also no shaver socket in bathroom but having said that if they are my only problems it really isn't a dislike. What's not to like? We were able to park outside the pub. No Place (the name of the village) obviously attracts the local population as there isn't much else there. Just the lack of a bedside lamp. The pillows were a little thin for my personal preference, but I never went to ask for extra ones- I'm sure the owner would have sorted something out as he had been so helpful in every other way. There was very little water pressure in my room meaning the shower was weak. nothing to dislike. All was good - nothing not to like for the money. shower in family room had no water pressure, and took ages to heat up. other than that no complaints at all. Nothing comes to mind. the shower needs so more presure. For price we paid (booked 2 rooms) couldnt find fault. No shower gel in bathroom. Wi-fi, although it worked very well in the public area, was rather slow in the bedroom. Also, there was no desk or other flat surface in either of our rooms for use as a computer table. No toilet roll provided. We wherein room 3 that had the toilet and bath across corridor with own key. shower. Nothing of note. Not much against it. Easy access to Beamish Museumfrom there , which was our object for the visit. cooking smells in bedroom. none. Torrential Rain for most of first day. Bit dated need darker curtains. The village, Absolutly nothing there !. nothing. Isolated location, resident dog, working mans pub style. Dark and a bit dingey. Bed was a bit lumpy bumpy. Could do with bigger kettles in the rooms. Rooms could do with a little TLC. I felt that the cost was slightly too high for the venue. The Meal on the Saturday evening. Only a pork sandwich but the roll was stale and the chips, (which had. been lovely the night before), were raw, greasy as if the had been boiled in the castrated this. Fried. Also, the heavy metal band which was laying in the ext room, but when the door was open it was too loud. The exterior of the premises was very off putting definitely needs some TLC to make it more inviting. I found the bed a little lumpy and uncomfortable. We had two children under 3yrs with us the wait for food was a little to long but I understand the chef was off sick one of the high chairs did smell so really do need updating or at least a really good clean breakfast could be laid out more appealing. Bed seen better days springs pushing through.Fire escape route not clearly signed main exit doors locked at night with no explaination how to get out. Entrance was full of cigarette ends. Dreadful smell in the bar which was more like a working men's club than a hotel.Dirty surfaces where the tea/ coffee facilities were.
