  We missed the breakfast and the staff was kind enough to prepare our breakfast almost at lunch time. The wedding we came to attend was at 1300 and the check in time at 1400, but the hotel staff was very nice and let us into the room earlier so we could dress for the wedding. The price was very reasonable and it was the only hotel in the area, which offer - Friendly atmosphere but staff did not intrude. The bar at the Hotel was popular with the locals who again were friendly but not intrusive. It was good to see a lively bar at this time with so many places closing. Close to various ancient monuments, white horses and Avebury. Good centre for walking and seeing the Wiltshire countryside. We went for the standard double which was fine for us.I think the more expensive rooms had spa baths but we preferred to save our money - it is good to have the

  Wonderful location in centre of Devizes. This has always been one of my favourite pubs especially in winter with log fires, friendly bar staff, lots of dogs and a good range of food and drinks available at all times of day. Most of all The Bear is a fabulous old building which can not be easy to maint - Friendly, helpful staff. Fantastic breakfast! We were travelling with our son, his partner and a very young baby and also an elderly mother and aunt. All were very happy with all aspects of the hotel. They were also very accommodating when we requested early check-ins in order to change for a wedding. All in all a lovely hotel.

To be fair, we arrived were attending a party nearby, had B/Fast next morning and left so didn't make use of the pub etc. The staff were fine and there had been a slight mix up over booking B/Fast however the owner really went out of his way to sort us out. The breakfast was delicious but beware of the portion size (huge). The coaching inn is in the centre of Devizes. Ask to see the cellars as they were part of a tunnel system that ran all around Devizes in the old days. Room No. 4 is said to be one of the most haunted in England.

  I stayed in the hottest part of 2013 and my room in the attic was very hot and with the windows open very noisy. However, the hotel had done their best and I had an excellent electric fan and there were even ear plugs available. At any other time of year I would have enjoyed it but the hot weather was hardly the hotel's fault. We would certainly stay at the Old Manor Hotel again if in the area and reccommend it without hesitation.
