I normally do not write reviews but after staying at Fernside I was determined to write one. It was the best B&B we ever stayed in. It was ever so clean, recently renovated. The bed was so comfortable, the highest quality as if the hosts bought it for themselves. Linda and Ian were the perfect hosts, very thoughtful. Attention was given to every little detail. The owners, Nigel and Amanda were so friendly and welcomed us both with a pot of tea and homemade flap jack to die for. Nothing was too much trouble. They are new to the area but have embraced Brixham and familiarised themselves with the local history and offer wonderful advice for restaurants and bars.

John and Barbra who run it are such a lovely sweet couple, so welcoming and helpful. From the moment we arrived all they wanted was for us to enjoy ourselves and relax.

A good friend and I had a lovely time staying at Lodge on the Lake, we wanted a relaxing girly weekend away and it was perfect. Barbara and John were fantastic hosts making us feel very welcome in their beautiful home. Everything from exploring in the woods to relaxing on the decking over the lake was fabulous. We will definitely return with our partners.

Prior to our stay all our questions were answered fully by emails from the proprietors. When we arrived we were very impressed by the ambience and feel of the hotel. Our stay was enhanced by the friendly, helpful and efficient proprietors, the massive comfortable bed in a delightfully airy, clean room, not to mention the most marvellous breakfasts.
