  yself and my husband and another couple stayed 1 night and chose this hotel due to the location - close to seascale but the location was beautiful the bar was a typical country inn type, the staff friendly, food was good & the Kamikazi real ale went down well. The room was small but clean and comfortable and good value for the price we paid. T... wat mensen zeggen » here was a large TeePee in the beautiful gardens in preparation for a wedding. We love Country Villages we would definitely stay again. - We wanted a real good value pub as a walking base for the weekend, we found one right in the middle of the lakes. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us - big thanks. The food was straightforward, good quality and great value. The beer was exceptional and again great value. We loved all the fires and so did our dogs. The rooms we ok, nothing special, but clean and comfortable. We will be returning again.

What a view from the balcony rooms stunning! - Everything! We have stayed at the hotel before and chose it for our honeymoon, the perfect place for peace and quiet.

  Very friendly and helpful staff. Close to town, within walking distance. Accommodation warm, comfortable and all facilities one would expect. Food not exceptional but tasty and well cooked. All in all a pleasant stay and hope to return one day. - Decor is a little dated but it adds to the ambiance!   I thought everything about the hotel was good. It was quiet and the room was spacious clean and had all the facilities required for a pleasant stay. Breakfast similarly provided all that was required to start a day. A good choice of cereal, cooked food or cold food if preferred with a range of drinks to suit all. The bar was adequate and more than... wat mensen zeggen » satisfactory to sit and have a nightcap before retiring. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and always on hand to provide guidance and advice. - Really enjoyed stay as base for visiting family in Cumbria. We were able to bring our two dogs rather than leave at home for small price per night. This was fabulous for us and a surprise as not realised when booked. Also free car park a real bonus for location and so convienient. Great shower in bathroom and as good as you get anywhere. All in all enjoyed 3 night stay with location short distance to walk to castle and park for dogs.Would recommend for budget conscious comfortable accommodation

Excellent service and very good food at a very reasonable price. Silloth is a convenient, peaceful base from which to explore the Lake District. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.   I love Eskdale and come in every year. Usually stay at Stanley but was full so booked Woolpack which we also knew for food/drink. Really enjoyed our stay, staff were great and good value for money.   I'm quite surprised that the hotel is only 2* as the facilities were excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. I accidentally booked a twin room instead of a double via this website, sent them an email concerning this error, and my room was changed the next day and I was notified via a phone call. Hotel room was excellent, very clean, everything we needed. The breakfast was superb, fresh fruit salad available, excellent. We took our large dog which was also really welcomed and she could go anywhere including the bar, other than the restaurant.   Loacation was perfect for Wast Water which we wanted to explore. Breathtaking scenery all around the hotel. Easy walking distance to local pubs. - The valentines 3 course meal was great and we went horse riding, the hotel staff were excellent at arranging this for us.
