The Homesford Cottage is situated in the heart of Derbyshire, within the Derwent Valley, a World Heritage Site. It rests on the A6 and is just a 2-minute walk away from Comford Canal. There is free Wi-Fi and a large car park opposite, on the other side of the A6.
Guest accommodation is self-contained with its own private entrance. They have been converted from 19th Century stables, and come with warm solid wood furniture and a contemporary en suite bathroom. A 32-inch flat-screen TV and homemade biscuits are also featured.
Breakfast is served in the breakfast room each morning and is locally sourced whenever possible. Guests can choose from a full English breakfast, as well as lighter options such as cereals and toast with fruit preserves. Fruit juice and hot drinks are also available.
Whatsandwell Rail Station is just a mile from the Cottage, which is surrounded by woodland on all sides. The south easterly corner of the Peak District National Park is within 4 miles of the property and Junction 28 of the M1 Motorway is just 12 miles away.

We stayed at homesford cottage on the 22nd of March and were greeted by Julie who was incredibly welcoming. On that particular weekend there was quite a lot of snow and there were no taxis running on the Friday night so Julie gave us a lift into Cromford to one of the local pubs. There was no end to Julie's hospitality and the breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend a stay here if you're planning to visit the idyllic Derbyshire dales. alle beoordelingen »
Beautiful location, room was immaculate & furnishings luxurious. But what made it extra-special was Julie- she was so welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble.Breakfast is cooked to order, just make sure you leave enough room for her home-made cake! Or take it with you! Thanks to Kathryn for her recommendation.Only regret was not being able to stay longer...but hope to stay again soon.Thankyou Julie x.
The accomodation was really lovely. Room was spacious and decorated to a high standard.
The little details that make a stay in a B&b feel special were all there and well thought out. We particularly enjoyed the home made cookies.
Breakfast was delicious and Julie was extremely friendly and helpful.
I would highly recommend a stay at Homesford cottage to anyone.
thank you julie for a wonderful stay.Thank you for the loan of yuor patio, your cosy sun lounger, your breakfasts kept us going all day.The black pudding was a revelation ,I have never liked it before,am a convert after eating your local butchers own recipe.
Anyone looking for a B and B in this area should look no further. This place is a little gem.
Absolutely everything! From the moment I was greeted on arrival by Julie it was the perfect break. Standards are exceptional on every level and the rooms are exquisite. Breakfast was cooked fresh and to perfection. I would love to keep this as my own private haven but that wouldn't be fair. I will certainly be back very soon.....
Julie was so friendly, made me feel comfortable very quickly and helped with finding local restaurants and giving advise on local attractions. The room was exceptionally clean and I was made to feel at home. Will definitely use again when we go back to this area. Thank you Julie for a very pleasant stay.
excellent facilities ,beautifully cooked locally produced food. Julie was an excellent hostess , nothing too much trouble.Room was tastefully decorated and the bed was extremely comfy.Wish we could have stayed longer but we will be back and looking forward to sampling the tea rooms when it opens.
The landlady was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. Breakfast was superb with so much choice (loved the smoothies). Wish we could have stayed for another night or two and spent some time in the local area.
Everything! Our third extended uk holiday and this is one of the very
best Bed & Breakfasts that we have experienced. Ultra clean and
comfortable, breakfast is spot on and Julie is a most gracious and
entertaining host. 12 out of 10 Good location for touring Derbyshire.
Julie is the perfect host and nothing too much trouble; lovely large clean room with a comfy bed for a good nights sleep and in the morning experience one of the best tasting breakfast to be served anywhere. I look forward to staying again when next in the area.

Everything was first class, spotlessly clean and fresh. The breakfast was amazing, I didn't eat anything else for the rest of the day. Would love to stay again, but for longer.
Everything about the hotel was great. Julie the owner was lovely and more than helpful, breakfast was very nice and good portions, great base for walking/sight seeing breaks.
Almost ridiculous luxury. A very large room with a very plush en-suite. Silk sheets I think!
Very obligingly I was allowed to book in early to fit in with my arrangements.
The cottage was lovely place to stay , julie was very welcoming and cant do enough for you wanting to make your stay pleasant. Would definitely stay here again.

The ability to visit pleasant nearby villages.
Could not fault our stay in anyway!.
Welcoming owner; couldn't do enough.
Everything.
Julie can do nothing about the A6 outside.I know she would if she could, she is the kind of host who would go the extra mile for her guests.
The room is next to a busy main road so the traffic can be noisy, particularly with lorries. That for me was the only 'blot'. Given that, it didn't particularly bother us and would not stop us from staying here again.
Nothing to dislike with this B+B.
Right on A6. Care needed crossing to car park. Transport required to get out for evening meal.
cant think of anything except we were only there one night.
It is close to the main road, but that didn't bother us.
being a non driver location was a little out of the way although regular bus service from just outside still makes it easy enough to get about.
Nothing I didn't like. Just maybe a few very minor details that could have made the luxury unsurpassable (like a shaving point and light in the en-suite and more opaque curtains to shade the morning light).
The only thing I could say I didnt like is that to get to places nearby you have to drive .
Nothing we didn't like.
Nothing.
Nothing negative.
nothing about the stay, people, service or experience was negative.
A6 could be a bit noisey.
All good.
Unfortunately this accommodation was beside a main road - too much traffic noise.
Nothing.
I cannot fault this perfect b and b.
The location on the main road and it is a little difficult to find.
couldn't get internet, there was road noise but wouldn't stop me going back.
Is close to the main road but traffic noise didn't keep us awake.
N/A.
very close to the road.
Difficult to find right place to stop and park.
Right on A6 - a bit noisy at night.
There is some road noise, it did not bother us but may bother some.
Parking on opposite side of a very busy road, room very close to aforementioned road, had to travel in car to restaurants.
The location besides a noisy road.
Nothing.
