The Dovecote Inn and Laxton are the perfect British "Village Experience." It is remote yet close to Nottingham and Lincoln or other large metropolitan areas. The B&B was wonderful and secluded yet was part of the Village center of social life... The award winning Dovecote Inn. Wonderful owners and locals to meet and get the real British experience. I highly recommend this B&B. The room was just as we hoped, private, set out to a very high standard, the food in the pub was to die for, the owners and staff could not do enough for you. There are some small pigs on the land that are not for food and the owner will let you pet them we had a really relaxing time walking in the village and just having time out from the every day life.

Wide variety of breakfast items left for you to eat when you choose to. Clean, modern bathroom,spacious room with original beams. Warm welcome from family and staff. Lovely large and tastefully decorated room. A quiet and relaxing retreat for time away. Great food and selection of well kept ales. The Game Night( Meal ) during our stay was a nice experience of lovely presented food. The misunderstanding bringing the board games was our mistake. Lol. Breakfast facilities in room very good and comprehensive. Cleanliness. Staff friendliness. Decor. The pub itself looks very pleasant with good beers, not time to test but I think the food would be good judging on the breakfast standards. Really professional and friendly welcome. There are only 2 rooms, I was in room 2 which was very comfortable and warm. I really liked the 'self service' breakfast arrangement and they had catered for my gluten free diet really well. This is the second time we have been to The Dovecote Inn, it's a lovely little village with very friendly people. The food at the Dovecote is fantastic with a very relaxed atmosphere. The Sunday lunch is definitely worth trying!. The accommodation was wonderful, beautifully furnished and maintained with some very nice touches. We ate in the restaurant which was excellent. Perfect choice for a nice weekend away. We got a very warm welcome from the owners on arrival and we stayed in a very comfortable room in the converted barn. The restaurant food was excellent and very filling!. Friendly ambience, helpful staff, superb food. The accommodation is away from the main building and thus no night noise! Admirable! Nothing. Leaving. Not much, the next door room needs to be occupied by sensible people (which mine was) or noise could be a problem. Ditto the pub car park. The fridge hummed and gurgled in the room so I switched it off. None of the aforementioned was a problem for me. Nothing springs to mind. Nothing really. Nothing!. Everything wonderful. Would have preferred pastries rather than bread rolls for the breakfast. Only had one night. flies.
