When we arrived at the hotel the staff advised that they'd upgraded us to a business class suite on the top floor. The room and the view was fantastic. Champagne was sent up and it set the scene perfectly to pop the question.

Stayed for one night. From booking in to leaving each one of the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable and there was extra pillows if you needed them . The bath was very comforable and quick filling. We loved our stay here. The staff were very friendly, and helpful. The breakfast choices were excellent, with some healthy options. We were allocated a massive double room, (which was also designed to accommodate any disabled guests with wheelchairs) The bathroom was also very spacious indeed - and was a wet room style, with a very efficient shower. The hotel is very conveniently located for the major shopping precincts.

Staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly.
Rooms are well appointed with everything you need. TV with loads of channels, tea/coffee, iron, hair-dryer, alarm clock and phone.
Bathrooms usually have bath with shower over but I have had a room with just the shower which is fine for me. Towels are really big and fluffy which earns brownie points from me.
Bar area is comfy and bar staff lovely. Had lunch here which was very tasty altho a bit pricey for a sandwich
I only used restaurant for breakfast

I liked the fact that it was located so close to the city that I couldeasily walk to major tourist attractions. I also appreciated the use ofthe free car park. - The Mercure Lodge Hotel, Cardiff is a great hotel based about 5 mins from the centre - An excellent base for a weekend in Cardiff. ligging , tegenover oude kasteel is mooi - I am disabled and don't get out of the house very often. and very rare get a good nights sleep. the comfort of the room and bed was excelent .I had the best sleep the night I stayed at the Hilton that I have had in months . a wonderful hotel. The staff were excellant, helpful and friendly. They gave us interconnecting rooms for us and our 2 grandchildren age 13 and 11 which was ideal. the room was pleasant and clean, it was in an ideal position for the shopping centre and the Mermaid Quay and the Dr Who experience all within easy walking distance. The breakfast was ok the continental part much better than the hot food.Good choice of drinks and proper orange etc. Good value for what we paid.
