the location, the lounge, the reception ladies particularly and the whole experience. The people couldn't have been friendlier. Most people I spoke to didn't even know about the hotel and would have stayed there if they had known. Ease of access to Motorway if stopping off on the way to the Highlands. A wonderfull setting in a fantastic old Castle. Location was very pleasant and the service was really superb. alle beoordelingen »
The staff was very nice. The food was excellent. The location was beautiful and the atmosphere of an old castle was great. The staff was nice and frendly, castle and grounds are beautiful, food was nice. Next time though we would book a castle room, but lodge rooms was ok it had all the things you need. Grounds were lovely. Gum boots provided for walking. Very quiet.Location adjacent to m6 - halfway between Dundee and home. Location and overall appearance. The building/grounds were beautiful. Staff very good. Lovely setting. Nice location, friendly receptionist.I was caught by surprise when I checked out and was told that I would be charged an additional 3.5% fee because I used a credit card. This was in addition to taxes, etc. I'm not sure that a fee like that is actually legal in the US. Dinner was very expensive for what it was.Poor bathroom in a newly updated room!!. the heating was on in the night which made for very uncomfortable sleeping. Lodge rooms a bit tired and the menu was a bit limited, staff told me that it has only just change owners and changes are in hand. Would have prefered tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer in the room without having to ask.Continental breakfast limited. Dining facilities extremely limited.Having driven over 400 miles and arriving at 8.30pm, the only optionavailable to us as a family of four, was to pay £144 for dinner with afixed price menu! The receptionist was helpful in suggesting localalternatives, but all of these had stopped serving at 9pm. A more modestmenu is needed, unless you are wealthy.
