First, from the hotel access to the towns and country of Somerset, N. & E Devon and Exmore was easy. Room was large, well equiped and comfortable, food was, yes, gourmet is a good word, staff were friendliness personified.

Attentive staff and a small but very good menu. Both items I chose - Moules & Duck were very well cooked. Also had a good wine list. The accommodation was modern, stylish and confortable.

Cosy Country Pub with glowing real Fires, our evening meal was very nice indeed and not expensive. The Barman that welcomed us when we arrived and showed us to our rooms is a credit to this place, very polite and attentive at all times and couldn't do enough for us, sadly I didn't get his name. The rooms are all brand-new and extremely well decorated but other areas and aspects of the business are falling behind which is a shame.

A very minor point was that the heating was on a little too high in the bedroom and we couldn't open a window.

Our bathroom didn't have a proper shower so we would request another room if we visit again.
Holiday was too short!!.
On first night dinner, wine was not cold enough. Saturday night dinner we had to wait 40mins for starter (we had guests dining with us). Monday, room not serviced (we were the only people staying so no excuse). Final bill included someone else's food from a previous evening.

A Bath but no Shower! who gets up in the morning and has a Bath?
This place needs a good cook in the morning too as the Bacon & Egg breakfast was terrible, the Eggs burnt on the Bottom and still clear on the top, Bacon was cooked on the radiator I think? We paid £110 for one night which wasn't value for money at all, £75 would be more like it.
