Amhuinnsuidhe Castle is set on the banks of Loch Leosavay, offering a dramatic Hebridean setting on the Isle of Harris. This beautiful Baronial castle has lovely gardens and a restaurant.
Dating from 1865, Amhuinnsuidhe Castle was built for the Earl of Dunmore. It offers charming, individually decorated rooms with luxurious, colourful finishes. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, heating and a private bathroom.
The striking, wooden-panelled dining room offers views of the loch. Dishes are prepared with local Scottish produce, including Hebridean shellfish.
The area surrounding the castle has been named a Special Protection Area and the castle offers West-facing views of Taransay and South Harris’ beaches. Local activities include fishing, wildlife observation, walking and bird watching.
The castle is reached by the scenic road to Huishinish. Tarbert, where you can catch a ferry to the Isle of Skye, is 25 minutes’ drive away.
