Very clean,comfortable room and beds
Separate spacious, private bathroom doubled as a good drying facility for wet walking gear
Good location in the heart of Ambleside, a lovely Lake District Town
Valuable car parking space (only 5 mins walk away).
Clean and beautiful hotel with nice hot showers.
In the village are some great restaurants (Doi Intanon, Fellini's) and cozy lunchrooms (Bilbo's cafe, Applie Pie cafe).
You can go hiking from your hotel, but also easily catch a bus to the northern and southern lakes.
Tip: walk the pretty route to Grassmere.alle beoordelingen »
Rooms are really nice for the low lost paid, staff friendly especially waitress in their own restaurant of which we had a fantastic evening meal. Tea making facilities in room although u also get tokens for coffee machine in lobby.
central to all restaurants, shopping, pubs, lakes, buses, free car parking, not tied to breakfast times. set as a base for exploring the lake district. good sized room, comfy bed, good shower,.
Lovely and clean, very large room, great beds, private bathroom across the hall, ticked all our boxes, nice Italian restaurant downstairs and lovely pub next door, few min walk from the lake.

Lovely clean comfie room, with nice hot shower. No breakfast included, but easy to get a really good breakfast just down the road, so great for those on a budget.
The room was simple and clean perfect for what we needed. The location a 2 minute walk from everything in Ambleside was amazing!.
It location, step outside the hotel and that's it you're in the
center of Ambleside. The hotel name is totally apt.
Stuart very helpful in resolving free wifi issue, and allowing suitcases to be stored on site after check out.
The location was ideal, central with plenty of restaurants and pubs within a minutes walk.

Good location, a few minutes walk to restaurants etc. Clean room, although a bit on small side. Ok for a couple of days, and if you don't want a breakfast served.
Proximity to shops cleanliness and quiet. Good wifi reception.
You get a token for the coffee machine every day.

Location.
We were unlucky that our stay coincided with noisy neigbours in the room next door. Had to ask them twice around 2 and 2.30 am to keep the noise down so could we sleep. Given no on site overnight staff not a lot we could do about it.
Be aware that it is an unstaffed hotel, and you need to check in at the restaurant downstairs. Their service is still great though!.
Car park is hard to find with map provided by hotel. Should just say park at football club car park to avoid confusion.
can be a bit noisy late on from people leaving the pub just up the road,,? I would think a rear room would solve this for the light sleeper.. or just join them?.
Can't think of anything!.
Car parking is a bit of a way out, but this is probably reflected in the price.
Our room was quite noisy being near the kitchens, the tv remote didn't work and the room didn't have enough storage just one big wardrobe but no drawers etc.
Free parking is available organised by the hotel. By mistake (didn't
read instructions properly) I parked in an adjoining car park and
received a penalty ticket.
Car parking not close by .
Noise from plumbing & Lilys bar.
Noisy bar bellow-only complaint as we all really value peace and quiet.
Noise (paper thin walls), for example we could hear the neighbours phone
on vibrate mode when their alarm went off. We could also hear every time
someone used the bathroom throughout the night... Directions to the car
park were poor at best, we bumped into another guest while parking and
he'd been searching around for 30 minutes looking for a sign
we'd all been told about that did not exist.
Family with young children (2 & 4yrs) & we were put on top floor. lovely room but a hike up & down stairs each day.
noisy, you can hear the next room people, and the room infront of us .... all the time...
nothing, really.
the car park is not "close by" and put some room numbers on the floor entry doors. we walked up to the top!.
Noise from nearby bar/pub.
Gas pipes wake you up in the morning or every time someone uses the hot water.very noisy place to stay local pub can hear the band music.no going to sleep before midnight.
No breakfast.
Nothing.

Don't agree with 'low cost' feature in advert. We decided to stay on an extra night and found a B&B near bridge house for less than the Central. (With breakfast included). Car park a bit of a trek, which means if you have a lot of luggage, (as we did), it's a bind having to get the car to the accommodation to load up. Also, water not very hot on first morning, and none on the second. Had to boil kettle.
Small double bed.
The key makes a lot of noise when opening the door. The so-called private bathroom is not in the room, which is a bit inconvenient.
Taking payment when booking was made 3 weeks in advance
Noisy pipes
Constant banging
car parking arrangements.
Light over bathroom mirror not working. Not because of tube failure but because there was no tube! Bathroom door noisy, needs oiling to prevent disturbing partner during nocturnal visits.
Small points and not rocket science to fix. Quality is often in the detail.
Not very well sign posted could not find anywhere close by for breakfast.
The toilet lid was broken.
The room was very gloomy with no real natural light. The noise from the external/restaurant extractor was v loud. Regular taliking and raised voices from the restaurant staff until v late kept me awake which made the stay over in room 3 unpleasant. I would recommend central but to avoid rooms like romm 3.
Should include breakfast & the rooms were too pricy. The stairway was also too cramped & difficult to carry luggage up.
Room bit clostiphobic . no air ventalatoin parking to far away and to secluded .did not fancy leaving my car thre.
Noisy students kept us awake each night in our very small room, sounded like they were in our room too ! There was no one for us to speak to about this problem. The entrance stairs were bit grubby and unwelcoming. Not quite what we expected.
Bathroom separate to the bedroom.
Parking 500M away.
Room very small for 2 people. The parking was too far from the hotel and my friend could not walk te distant, nobody told us that the parking is far away. The steps is so narrow we battle to get up the steps with our suitcases and no lift available.
Two flights of stairs to room Noisy pipes when you flushed the loo or
ran the hot and cold water Noisy guests To contact the owner you had to
phone Never saw the owner Bedside lamp not working Had to go to Italian
Restuarant to find someone who could change a bulb, the waitress came
and did it.
