  I was really impressed by the hotel. Having read reviews for lots of London hotels before booking I was really hoping it lived up to the pictures and it really did. Great accommodation, very modern interior. Although we didn't use it, it had a very comfortable bar area. On the night, as we arrived late we got a taxi (which the hotel sorted - I've just returned from a two night stay at Aloft London Excel where I had a great time. Although this hotel is not in the centre of London, the DLR line (a metro line on the surface) station Prince Regent has direct access to the hotel and the station of Tower Gateway, in the centre of London, is within a trip of 15 minutes.   Upon arrival, it was clear to see the hotel was clean and fairly luxurious (Especially for a 'Holiday Inn'!). The staff were friendly and helpful, with the room cleaned regularly, with free water and chocolate each day (at least I think they were free!). Especially at night; looking over the Olympic park, docklands and the o2. - Large rooms, excellent beds, coffee and tea facilities in room and good bathroom. Quality of breakfast and room service also excellent, and on top of it all, slam opposite Europe's largest shopping centre, with almost every central London shop available. Ideal location for both shopping as well as a quick underground trip (20 minutes by central line) to the centre of London and its attractions. ALso very convenient to get to City Airport and Southend Airport.

  A new Hotel, excellent location for our needs, a short walk to Aldgate East tube, the staff so friendly and helpful. We took a short taxi ride to Tower Pier and went on the Thames from Tower Bridge to Westminster.
