  Everything was so perfect. A hotel that everyone would dream of. Victoria, the Ukrainian girl, was one of the staff who was showing and telling us about all the available activities in the hotel and I can say the hotel is lucky to find someone like her where I never experience any brilliant way of dealing with customers the same way she was dealin... wat mensen zeggen » g with us. The massage in the Chi SPA I had was one of the best I have ever had in a hotel. Good room service. Great view on the Bosphorus. Rooms very nice, good balcony. We stayed in Premium Suite.

  The history: Agatha Christie wrote her [Murder on the Orient Express] at this hotel. There is a small exhibition area on the fourth floor about this and other historic moments. The elevator from 1895 can still run (though not always in use). They sell postcards and other souvenirs about the hotel at the front desk. Really a piece of history! The Breakfast - A classic hotel, which I've used twice before, in 1995 & 2005, before its recent refurbishment. It's now three times the price, but the grandeur is no longer faded, it's now a true 5-star place. And I'm delighted to say that the refurb hasn't spoilt its character at all, as this is a hotel with more character and history than most! Staff were great, we got a room upgrade, and an extra hour extended checkout wasn't a problem. If we return to Istanbul, it'll be the Pera Palas for us!
