  Out of this world. Amazing staff. All local and awfully kind. You get the cutest, sexiest own hut. Impeccable design, clean and comfy. With your own pool and a fun outdoor bathtub. Blends in with nature. Great food. BEST OF ALL: the spa. Call ahead and book. The male masseur I had was unbelievable. I felt like butter. Great place. However, one must be a nature lover and be prepared to share your villa with the wildlife. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and very efficient. We celebrated our Wedding anniversary whilst there and it was really romantic and perfect. Paradise!

  Fantastic location. Hard to get there though as it is about 10km from Dambulla. The food was best we have had in Sri Lanka so far. The infinity pool is beautiful as it looks out to the lake. The room was very comfortable. Ambience is devine. It makes a great base to see the surrounding district. Make sure you pay the extra to get a room with a vie... wat mensen zeggen » w as its well worth it. - We arrived later than planned. Signage to this place really needs work. Once there it was phenomenal. We were greeted by Monica the elephant and given an upgrade. Thank you fr that. The location and view fr the restaurant on 6th floor are the things that set this property apart. A definate must fr anyone visiting Sri Lanka.

  Amaya Lake Dambulla gets 5 stars from me. We booked the standard chalets and were upgraded to Luxury Rooms without even requesting. They accomodated our request for an early check in at 6am, 7hrs before check in time. I celebrated my bday in this beautiful resort and they arranged a chocolate cake for me at midnight :) In my 8day Sri Lanka trip, o... wat mensen zeggen » f all the Rice & Curry dishes I had tried, Amaya's was my favorite. Also do not miss the spa, I only got the Lower Limb massage and it was soo goo - We had a very relaxing two days stay at the facility. There was some initial confusion where the hotel mistakenly put us up in a lower category room than what we had booked but this was quickly resolved when we highlighted later and were given an upgrade to the luxury suite. Overall good service levels although I would expect more consistency and speed as it sometime appeared a bit lackluster. Good choices in their restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Spa could improve their infrastructure but

  We were greeted by friendly staff and led to our room, which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. A tray of free, fresh fruit awaited us. The pool was warm and a good size. The dining had a nice selection. Above that was a nice overlook, from which you could see Lion Rock. Beautiful!   The hotel was in very close proximity to the rock so you could walk to the rock to climb and to the museum,the rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Having the pool was excellent for just relaxing with some down time. We hired some bikes and road around the local country lanes.   The setting and customer service were great. We arrived in the late afternoon, and the spa staff stayed late so that we could get massages since it was our only night at the hotel.   Stylish comfortable rooms for the price which are more like apartments. (The natural light in the bathroom is an excellent idea in this kind of environment.) The hotel was 4 months old when we stayed so everything clean and new. Location is great for nature and excursions. Sigiriya rock is approx 1000 rp tuk tuk ride away. Breakfast and dinner buffet are not 5* but good enough to keep most happy wit - Nice cabanas, lovely bathroom, everything worked as it should have, pity we only got to stay for a very short time and didnt have a chace to enjoy the pool or the spa, both looked amazing. The food was also great and the staff very helpful without organizing a safari within 30 minutes of our arrival.

Quiet area, relaxing. We saw lovely birds and the garden was kind of tended. The staff were very polite and couteous and were helpful if needed. They even took us to a restaurant in tuk tuk. You can buy a Lion beer in this hotel and drink out on the veranda!

  This was excellent value for money. My brother and I had a nice airy room that was very clean with a good verandah at the front. The surrounding area was tropical and the place central for visits to the ancient cities.The staff were friendly, the food good and a reasonable price. The guesthouse was driver friendly too which was important for us.. ... wat mensen zeggen » - The forest garden outside our rooms - tranquil and a buzz with wildlife made for a relaxing night.The rooms are comfortable but not flash.Our host took our washing and it was returned the next morning.We arrived on a Sunday night.Being a Catholic owner, little was happening in the area / hotel. a delightful stop.
