  This didn't feel like any other hotel, it was like you were staying in someone's home - from the decor to the breakfast to the way we were treated. The double room we got was very comfortable and it looked like a little cottage in the city. The woman at the desk was very helpful and personable, she was always willing to help us with anything we ne... wat mensen zeggen » eded. The location is very central - we were in the old town and we could walk to the Guggenheim and La Ribera Market. The day we stayed in Bilbao, th - We really enjoyed our stay. The owner was very friendly and helpful (and spoke excellent English). The room was so homey-it was nice to go out in the rain and go "home" to a warm and comfortable room. The heaters worked quickly and the room was large and clean. The breakfast in the morning was good-tea/coffee and an assortment of bread products (and fruit and yogurt, if desired).   The lodging is in a vineyard in a beautiful setting near Bakio bay. The inn is also beautiful, with great attention to detail, comfortable, inviting. There's a private path through the property down to the road that goes to the beach. The owner, who also owns and manages the adjacent boutique winery, is friendly and helpful, with amazing energy. She also gave u - We stayed in Basarte for a week and we liked almost everything. The location is excellent: it is near the mountains but within walking distance to the beach, so you can enjoy hot sun for the day and cool air for the night. The room was impeccably clean with a very comfy bed and a view to the mountain. The owners are two sisters who are very friendly and hospitable. I'd absolutely recommend to try their own wine, it's light crispy and delicious, we've even took a couple of bottles home. If we go

  Pensión La Salve is not too hard to find if you do your homework. Look for it using Google Earth. If you go through Puente de La Salve it should be easy to get there. There is an easier way to go there without using the bridge, but you might have to find it there. It is about a ten minute walk from the city.   This small 'casa rural' was very well equipped and even had a small gym and spa bath. The bedroom was large, spotlessly clean and supplied with a fridge and microwave. The owner was extremely friendly and provided us with information about 'things to do' in the area. It was within half an hour's drive of the port and gave us a chance to see the magnificent scenery along the northern coast of Spain. - The hostess is very charming and provides you with recommwndations for the surrounding area.
