of Madrid - Gran Via and Puerta del Sol, where you can take the tourist-
bus and travel all over the city. Our double-room on the second flour
was always clean, the furniture and bathroom (with all the accessories)

The location is superb (if a little hard to find down a side street). Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to do everything to make our stay perfect. Was concerned a "hostal" might not be up to scratch but it was like any other 3 star accommodation. Room was large with fairly new ensuite and very comfy beds. There was nothing we didn't like and would definitely stay again.

gezellig en mooi, proper hotel - Zeer aardig personeel, ging direct aan de slag om de reservering aan te passen toen er iets niet helemaal klopte. Kamer werd direct met spoed schoongemaakt. En werd ook zeer goed schoongehouden. Erg nette kamer, gezellig en met goede bedden. Zeer centrale ligging in het centrum van Madrid!

Everything. Holiday inn Express without the frills yet still a personal touch. Right downtown. 1 block or so from Gran Via subway (metro station stop.
Safe. 24 hr desk. 3 levels of security; building, hotel, then your room.
Maid rearranged room for us after first night to better suit our needs(2 twins beds to a pseudo-double) and tidied our sloppy shoes.
Ultra clean. Like spotless. Pressed sheets.
I found this property with a price filter but will make a bee line there next time.

Enorm behulpzaam personeel, propere kamers, comfortabele bedden, makkelijk bereikbaar - Er was een mooi uitzicht over de Gran Via wanneer je op het balkon stond, voor de prijs die je betaald is het zeker de moeite waard want je zit echt midden in het centrum. Het personeel is aardig, er is gratis internet (draadloos) en een tv+dvd-speler.

I liked everything about this hostel. It is on the 5th floor but
don't worry because they do have an elevator. The place was recently
renovated so everything is new, modern, and beautifully decorated
w/TV and nice quiet a/C. Even though it is on a very busy main
street, my room #12 was quiet because it faced into a courtyard. Wi-Fi
was free and worked great. The location could not be better. I could
walk to Sol, Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace and gardens, Plaza Espagna,
and the Opera house. The

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room had been newly renovated and was kept extremely clean. There were two sets of double paned windows to keep out the street noise. The Museo del Jamon was right next to the hotel and is a great place to get breakfast, lunch, snacks, coffee or beer/wine. We would definitely return.
