We loved the position of Hostal Pilar, overlooking a beautiful Plaza and in the centre of the historic area of Estopona and being just a two minute walk to the promendade and beach, No food available here but a lovely cafe in the plaza and lots of really good restuarants nearby. No car park but the nearby one is special rates from hotel. If you have disabled badge it is free!. Staff very helpful especially gave me a down-stairs room so I did not have to carry my very heavy suitcase up the stairs. The Hotel was in the Main Square in the middle of all sight-seeing. Despite not having Dining facilities the cafes were right there and open very early in the morning for breakfast. Really only 5 mins from the Bus Stop.

Lovely "square of flowers" with a great range of restaurants, shops, bars, etc in very close proximity. Beach and promenade within walking distance. Generally, excellent location and exactly what we expected. It could not have been in a better location-on Plaza del Flores and our room looked out over the plaza. The family (3 generations I think) that run the hotel are unendingly warm, generous and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. It was a extremely quaint hotel with lots of character. Nice, family-owned/operated traditional Spanish hotel. Beautiful view of Plaza de la Flores from our room. Great location in old Centro, with lots of interesting walks nearby. Friendly, helpful staff. The Hostel was very clean, new towels every day. the staff / family were extremely friendly, with 24 hr reception. This hotel was in a great location with a very typical Spanish appearance the staff where very helpful and friendly we loved our stay here. The room and ensuite a little on the small side, but this was not a real problem. Lovely original tiles on the floor as the hostal was built in the mid 1700's - so no carpark. Nothing. Nothing to dislike. It is exactly what it says it is. Although our room was very nice and had a lovely terrace out over the plaza, the room itself was a bit on the small side. No laundry service. Nothing. Not a thing. I have no negatives. Nothing. The only problem we had was parking there was some available nearby but it was expensive. Inconsiderate people talking through the night in the next room even though the dividing walls were solid. A kettle in the room and a cup to make tea would have been nice but at the price I can't complain. 1. Lack of english speaking programs on the TV. 2. A bit noisy at night. No breakfast available. There is no way free parking nearby the hotel albeit if you ask at reception, they can give you a good discount on a public parking 3 min. away from the hotel. The flies in the entrance .... Very noice from the square outside. For us now problem but can be... Beach is fine sand so watch out for strong breeze which can last several days and make sitting on the beach very unconfortable. Shower was a bit small, but to be fair they did move me to a better room when l asked, i.., one with a bath. There was nothing to dislike. Very basic. One piece of small soap for the week. some noise in street late at night but not huge problem. Could have done with more bedding. parking not too convenient. Air Conditioning not constant No Sky or UK News or Radio Channels. Room 8 was very small. A wee bit basic, but can't really complain for the money. Was very clean and adequate for a night's stay. In the middle of the old town and without ANY possibilities whatsoever to even stop nearby to unload/load luggage. Air conditioning turned off automatically one or twice per night. Bed was really uncomfortable and flimsy.
