The lodge is perfectly placed -just 5 minutes drive from the south gate. If you're going to Addo this place is ideal and the hosts Isabelle and Christoff are most obliging - Isabelle and Christophe were the most brilliant hosts and ran the hotel in a lovely relaxed manner. The room was wonderful and the outdoor shower enchanting. It was a brilliant place to stay for the Addo Elephant Park just 10 minutes drive from the gates. I would definitely stay there again. The food was very good, the room clean and very comfortable.

  Great place to stay! We were welcomed very friendly, the guesthouse is on a beautifull orange farm, everything well organised and clean. We had a very nice diner and breakfast. The staff aranged a great game drive for us in de Addo park with Crisscross Adventures which was one of the highlights of our trip.   We were warmly welcomed by a member of staff who proceeded to give us a comprehensive tour of the guesthouse. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and the food, especially the dinner and the homemade bread served at both dinner and breakfast, was absolutely delicious!   The staff at the Fernery were so friendly and helpful. The attention to detail and care that went into the evening meal (a prepared barbeque) was amazing and we felt really spoiled. I'd highly recommend the Fernery but would suggest a stay longer than we had (only one night unfortunately) as there is so much to experience. Also the Boxer dog belonging to the owners' son is the most gorgeous dog I've eve - My wife and i stayed in a B&B Chalet for 3 magnificent nights. This place is off the charts with total freedom & tranquility - only wish it would never have ended. We will return to this beautifull haven in the near future ..........

  We loved the attention to detail. The management and staff (and the owner) were outstanding hosts. The accommodation was just superlative and the service was fantastic. The location was relaxed ,beautiful scenery and just perfect to unwind.   We loved staying in the rondavels! The whole setting of the property is very pretty. We wished we could have stayed for more than one night! The gentleman who owns the property is very nice - I left something behind accidentally and he even mailed it back to me. The restaurant next door is FANTASTIC too. If we are ever in Addo again, we will defin... wat mensen zeggen » itely be returning. - Rather fun staying in the thatched round cottages, and they had everything you could need including en-suite shower and electrics of course. We were self catering and there is a very well equipped kitchen in the main house together with lounge area and plenty of seating. Very good restaurant adjacent, too. Really helpful and friendly landlord.
