Protea Hotel by Marriott O R Tambo Airport Transit is een doorreishotel en ligt binnen het internationale transfergebied van de luchthaven OR Tambo. Op een steenworp afstand vindt u bars, restaurants en belastingvrije winkels. Het is gasten die door de douane en bagagecontrole zijn gegaan, niet meer toegestaan om terug te keren naar het transfergebied en in te checken bij het hotel.
De kamers met airconditioning hebben een eigen badkamer en moderne meubels. Ze zijn uitgerust met een bureau, een koffiezetapparaat en een flatscreen-tv met satellietzenders. Het hotel biedt ook roomservice.
Protea Hotel by Marriott OR Tambo Airport Transit bevindt zich in Terminal A, binnen de internationale vertrekhal OR Tambo. De winkels van Ferrari Concept, Lacoste en Timberland liggen vlak bij het hotel.

I could not image that Protea has improved the quality of look and
service. I stayed in Protea before it got improved and it was like an
abandoned family house and I was always recommanded my friends to get a
hotel out of int'l airport: I last stay 24/09/013, it was
wonderfull with protea, keep ahead and thanks for the good service to;. alle beoordelingen
The facilities in the room were great.

Problem I got when I booked online, charged was usd.211/night and
paid by credit mastercard but when I arrived at receipt with booking
ref.number + Pin..received during my booking online, nothing was shown
to the hotel desk computer;I opened my laptop and show to the
receiptionist man and got also surprised why nothing is showing in
protea computer, the gentleman could nothing and provide me an available
room,::pls control your online system....
Quite costly, no meals attached to stay
Fire alarm was tested at 1am, and after the scare, we go back to sleep and it goes off again in half an hour
Room 403 had faulty AC and we had to have our room changed at 3 am as the room became too hot and I even began to nose bleed.
Price should be lower.

Was assured by email that I would receive a response to my complaint within a given time-frame and have not received it as yet.
Very Could Rooms.
After booking a double bed than finding 2 single beds. Towels were for one person and frayed. No shower gel or body/hand lotion. Had to go and enquire for WiFi connection, was not offered at reception. Apologies were made by staff when leaving.
