Located in the middle of Hakone-Yumoto hot spring area along the Sugumo River, Senkei is classic Japanese-style accommodation boasting spacious hot spring baths and a massage beauty salon. Featuring an en suite hot spring bath, each room is fitted with a low table, a flat-screen TV and comfortable chairs next to large windows. Guests can make a cup of green tea with an electric kettle and tea bags, and sleep on traditional futon bedding. Senkei Ryokan provides an open-air bath on the top floor and large baths in a separate building. GeSpa salon is decorated in a Balinese design and offers rejuvenating treatments. Gift items can be purchased at the on-site shop. Delicately prepared seasonal Japanese multi-course meals are served in the privacy of the guestroom. Nakai (personal attendant) serves the dishes with an attentive care. Hakone Yumoto Station is a 10-minute walk, and Ashi Lake is a 20-minute drive from the property.

Booked the tatami style room with breakfast & dinner. Great food (almost too much :P - check-in hungry!), extremely friendly service from arrival to departure. It was a little expensive but for the experience & a one-time splurge, it's well worth the money. Some things worth nothing, it's a pleasant 10 mins walk to the town's main Yamato Train station or if you've got many bags, take a shuttle bus (right across from the station) that'll cost you 100 yen / person / way. alle beoordelingen » A lovely warm welcome. Staff spoke English well. Lovely outdoor & indoor Onsen. Fantastic Japanese style room. Comfy futon (spare sponge mattress to go under it if wanted). Stunning traditional Japanese meal served in the room. Great location. Shuttle bus. Japanese Room is big. A waterfall just in front of the window, very relaxing sound. Having dinner and breakfast in the room is very comfortable. The onsen is good and clean. Service is good, sometimes too much that makes you feel a little bit suffocated. The room is excellent with a big patio. The staffs are very nice and friendly. Service was excellent. Wonderful and attentive service and the food was amazing. Well presented, good quality and an incredible journey of Japanese high end cuisine. Little cozy ryokan. Food was good. Don't count too much on the in-room Onsen if your room has one - it isn't much. The shower area could be better. If you want an Onsen experience, drop by the hotel's public Onsen which is free for hotel guests. The traditional Japanese food was a little tricky for young children, however the hotel amended the menu to provide steamed rice etc. Also the Japanese breakfast was swapped for a Western breakfast in the coffee shop. Price is too high, hotel is a little bit old, Hotel employees don't speak good English, Hotel is far from the hakone yomoto station, if you have luggages and child, you'll need to take a taxi or wait for a shuttle bus which is available twice per hour. The properties are well past their sell by date and need a good uplift. We carried on and stayed in the Ritz after which was less expensive than this with an executive club upgrade. Ok, you get the experience but not value for money in my opinion. A bit old Some dusts. Staff was a little bit rude Advertisement of private ensuite hot spring bath is deceiving as it is just a smaller than normal bathtub and we left one day early because of this We were asked at what time we wanted breakfast and dinner and chose our desired time, but were pressurissed to change it to earlier time.
