We spent one night on the way to Elba. Fantastic Tuscan views, peace and total relaxation on the go. Maybe a little hard to get to the destination. I would recommend for people who like detachment from the crowds. Near the 20 to 30 km two wonderful small and charming towns. Good restaurant. Highly recommended for a relaxing break or stopover. -

It is so quiet at night and cooler than Florence. Dinner on the terrazza overlooking Florence. The antique everything. What better than a stay in a Medici Villa for a visit to Florence! You can buy bus tickets right there and hike up to the road to catch a bus. Nice 20 min walk to Fiesole, or you can take the bus. Lovely welcome and friendly service. We had an amazing view over the valley from our room. This was a wonderful place to spend some time relaxing.
Whilst the main purpose of our visit was as a central base to go to Florence, Siena etc. etc. We spent a wonderful day exploring San Miniato which has much to offer on its own - and would strongly recommend.
